when I am downloading a big file from an FTP server.

I hope that I can share it at the same time, and even download it from other users who are also downloading it from the FTP server, and people can also download it from me.

After I finish my downloading, I will exit the program to stop my contribution.

same thing to HTTP, mms, bt, ....

You are all know there are a lot of resouces provided with ftp and http.
so we have to add this feature to enable people share stuff more effieciently, and greatly increase the download speed. Since some ftp servers limit connections, band width for each user.

Any says about my suggestion, please let me know.
You post here, I will check it out.

The problem with this is that a filehash can't be calculated before the FTP download is fully completed. AFAIK, that makes it impossible to share the file using ed2k protocol (or any decent current P2P protocol for that matter).

http is supported. the under-utilization of this great freature is because linkcreater should be integrated into emule, not as a standalone IMO.

mms is not that easy to deal with. it would add substantial filesize to the installer i think.

During the downloading period, the filehash can not be calculated,
but we can use a psudohash, then when it is done, we change it.

or

we can use the URL instead. the URL is unique. So, we might extend the concept of filehash. It might be a traditional one, or it might be a URL.

or

the filehash can be a traditional one, or it is "URL", then we append another field URL to the system, we check the URL field. Once the filehash is calculated, then we set the filehash.

If the emule could support ftp, http, mms, ..., then it would be a fantasic downloading tool.

Does anything support that kind of downloading? It would probably be better in terms of p2p to add support for Gnutella and Bittorrent.

Not sure if this is in the official eMule, but you can import parts via other downloads you have made (context menu in the Transfers window).

MMS is a streaming format. If you could hunt down open-source code for MMS protocol support, the developers would be more likely to add it.
Currently recommending and using: eMule beba 2.63
For slot control only, currently recommending: Tombstone Xtended 1.0 (or higher) if you absolutely must have slot control

But that is what it is not. It's a p2p client nothing else.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
