you sure that file is legit?

EDIT: I just downloaded it, its not an installer so maybe thats why its so big. If im right all this just goes to a new folder n thats it? Its like what youd get after you install it, but what about all the reg keys n stuff?

Their .zip packages always was about 15Mb instead of installers (about 9 MB). I don't know why...

the installer is packed by another Archive Type
a 7zip is also availible, it's about the same size as the installer...

No mention of DLL there...Just 'Binary' and 'Source' - if the binary one is just a dll I unzip to the plugin folder then I'll try that.

@Cybermutant: It's probably not all that important, but I was curious: Why did you choose to remove the code from line 158:

    add_usage_hint( N_("Use for previewing eMule part files") );

Was that function/macro no longer supported in the new version?

This seems to be still supported. The original file access module doesn't use it, I had added it to the partfile plugin after seeing it in the CDDA module.

While updating the code for VLC 0.8.5 the first few DLLs I compiled kept crashing VLC, and to figure out what caused the crashes I started to modify the code to make it as similar as possible to the original file access module. That's why that line was deleted. Later the problem turned out to be something else, but I forgot to add the line back

Methinks that somewhere b_seekable isn't being updated properly. Even though I unset avi_partfile_seekable and I try to preview and AVI file, VLC still complains about:

This AVI file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly. 
Do you want to try to repair it (this might take a long time) ?

I can't seem to find the bug ATM. Hmm...

Perhaps it has something to do with line 245?
