Ever since I upgraded to emule 46c I have been having server connection problems. Every so often I lose a connection to a server (the time varies, but it is far too often). This does not effect my internet surfing or connection to the internet. I know that it is not a hardware problem (and I really know that it is not!). I think it may be a problem with the program or an issue with my ISP. I want to know if people have encountered the same problem, and if so, how did you fix it? Also, if anyone knows of any program that could diagnose this problem(i.e. monitoring software) please tell me. Ive tried fiddling with every little preference in the program (so its not the settings). Ive tried changing my ports. I always have high Id when I connect to servers and I only use servers from gruk. I dont have any firewalls enabled. I do have Nortone Antivirus running though. I haven't had any problems with emule untill now.

OK...If you really want to know my specs...

O/S= MS 2000 Professional SP4
CPU= P4 1.8 GHz
Memory= 512 MB
My cable modem is a Motorola SURFboard SB5100 (38Mbps Download, 30Mbps Upload)
My current internet speeds are 5.1Mbps Download and 1Mbps Upload
My ISP is Rogers

If you have any suggestions on optimal emule settings please tell me.

Ive performed ping tests and wondered if this meant anything- "does NOT respond to a UDP ping"

Answering any of these questions is greatly appreciated...Thank You

Chris

*I edited my intro to make it less "hostile"*

Here are my settings...
Capacities...
Download 300KB/s Limit= 300KB/s
Upload 100KB/s Limit= 60KB/s

Ports
TCP 2247
UDP 3809

Max sources/file...Hard Limit 500
Connection Limits...Max. Connections 250

Speedsense is turned off- it is faster to Up and Dn when it is off

Max New Connections/ 5sec: 20

My average upload speed used to be 40KB/s and my Download speed about 45KB/s (I dont download all the time, I sometimnes just leave it on for people to upload).

My average upload speed now is 12.7Kb/s and Download speed is 10.95KB/s.

Thats pretty much the important stuff. These settings have worked perfectly for previous versions of emule, but the 46c version is acting up. <_<

My speeds are fine, but none of this explains why I lose my connection to the server every 30 minutes...

High or Low ID? A lot of big-name servers kick low ID users on a periodic basis.
Which servers do you normally connect to? And does this happen regardless of which server you connect to?
It said: "Insert disk #3 into drive...", but only 2 will fit...?!?

I do not use fake servers and I always have High ID. Frequent disconnections happen to me on ALL servers. :furious:

most probably your ISP is messing your P2P experience.

What could be causing my connection to be lost every once and a while.... No one will give me a straight answer. :bouncehi: Just list the possibilities...

What can cause death? would you expect an straight answer to that, or a list of posibilities? it's the same, there is simply no exact answer. At least no without the proper info from your ISP, which you most probably do not know.

Regards.

Hi there,

I also have problem with the version 0.46c. But the difference with you is that each time I run Emule, my PC freez. And I know it's not a Hardware problem.

So what I can suggest you is :
- try an older version of Emule
- or try Emule iOnix
