Remove from filter all adresses begining with [EX] - they are supposed to be on "white list".

OK, block "avast autoupdate" things, but remove from filter legitimate servers such like: TV Underground, eMule Security.

guys, this ipfilter have a history.

read the subject from the begin, the "server" policy is not new (I have my own idea about what is a P2P privat network for non-business use ) ... you can use an other ipfilter like elchele freeware or the "donator" BISS ipfilter (not free) or emulefan ipfilter or spanish modified ipfilter (ver. "b" , you can find this easy in this forum) .

Well including the [EX] ranges not just kills the known good servers but also protects you from such "threats" as the NIST timeservers and chaos computer club

Edith just told me, I can sort the filters by Description in the mule itself, and simply delete that whole whitelist [EX] block to make this list functional again. Thats definitely faster than using a text editor, so the list is still quite usable.

Yes, the list compilers have the bigger picture to look at as well, the survival of the Internet as we know it.

You trust the list compilers to do an accurate and professional job (after all you are paying them, aren't you????) Of course, if you have a better scheme or a method of fine tuning what gets banned, feel free to share it.

NIST timeservers are just examples of the completely harmless stuff that gets filtered out. They might as well add a few thousand timeservers from ntp.org and I bet many ppl would think they're even better protected now... The CCC may well be running their own legit P2P stuff and it's one of the last places in the world where I'd suspect malicious intent.


And no, I don't think the list compilers are somehow infallible or whatever you seem to imply. If anything, bluetack is a profit-minded business outfit who will benefit from FUD and paranoia. That and this whole superior attitude is already suspicious enough, if they (like you) can't take simple questions without getting all defensive it's a bit smelly.

And yeah, I shared the way to improve this list in my post above, didn't you read?

And no, that list is not meant to protect someone from me... lol funny idea, you sure you understood what ipfilters are for?

Because this ipfilter is built upon bluetack's block lists, see first post.

And bluetack's reasons goes something like:

VPN Users are always more, specially in germany, and I don't know if is still convenient filter them... for example I know that 1 friend use a VPN service and I cannot download datas from him cuz ipfilter filter his servers

blueattack filters so much...horrible !!

i use ipfilter all over the years but now i see the bad guys are not inside of the list...
so we will see ^^
