Hi PacoBell :respect:

I don't know if that was for me, but to be honest with you I don't do it myself because, I think it's an very important thing and I don't want to make a mistake and have an IPFilter that doesn't filter right..

Sure even this one posted by Meuh6879 may have it's problems. We all know that Anti P2P companys don't always use static IP's or they may even use Proxys, after all they also know about this kind of IPFilters.

But nonetheless it does filter a lot of crap clients and servers that pollute P2P, and I trust the work done in this IPFilter. :respect:

Looks like the Windows version hasn't been updated since 2005-09-19 02:23, but the Mac version's seen some action on 2008-04-20 17:34. Also, does PG2 distinguish which programs/ports the hits belong to?

EDIT: Oh, it's because they're working on PG3 now :+1:
LOL! They're using VC2008!

I use the Ipfilter at level 100, but now after reading more about the levels, what I thought was a good level ( using 100 ) seems to be a weak level of protection..

So is level 100 a good protection?

Is there a need for a higher level like 127 on a normal use of emule on a everyday use?

Thank you :)

There is nothing particularly special about that value apart from being the default eMule uses and, thus, is used as a baseline for comparison by ipfilter makers. Read this and this for more information. HTH.

Yes, after I read your post it seems so..

But correct me if I'm wrong, if you use level 100 it will block all of them, so unless you wanted to choose what to block, this version of ipfilter will block everything and will do job right :)

I guess maybe it wasn't done the same way ( less free time from the author to add levels ) or the author isn't the same, but I'm sure there's people on this board who know this stuff better than me :)

Yeah, not a big thing. Having them set to 0 just means that everything is blocked with no user interaction required. I did like the level idea although I never did use it... (well...)

Cheers

btw, what did you base your new version on? or did you just add the new IP ranges rather randomly? ;)
