The problem is that Mc4TuTi (and my Gratis Mirror Lycos FTP) haven't a sufficient band-width to support a similar load. It is for that that we do not include a ipfilter.txt.
Mc4TuTi will be able to confirm it, I think...

adding an ipfilter.txt will reduce the needed bandwith as only a fraction of the size of ipfilter.dat needs to be downloaded. Only if ipfilter.txt is newer will the ipfilter.dat be downloaded.

Hi, I'm new on this forum but I have been following Mc4Tuti's work for several months. Tx Mc

He told me to contact you because when I update the file from your posted site (http://membres.lycos...er/ipfilter.dat) I get a message saying the following:

"18/01/2004 0:11:10: IPFilter.dat is already up to date. Version: Desconocido"Desconocido = unknown

I use the MOD the Blackhand v.7.

If the mule does not know the version it can not update it when there is a new one available? or like in this case there was a correction (a minor one) but my mule said it was the last version

Is there anything you can do to have the MOD figure out if the version is the last one, so it can update it?

The problem is that the lycos FTP doesn't support a another way to download that the standard "save as..." (with IE6).
AND, the eMule use this method to download files (like *.RDF in "Release" section)...

It's strange that this method doesn't work...(and work for you only with *.txt and not for *.dat...it's very strange)

EDIT: I more undertstand...but, the standard IPFILTER.TXT is only a number in a TXT file...i can't do more

EDIT2: After a test with the Badwolf-Pawcio witch include Fakes and Ipfilter auto-update...(and with a old ipfilter)...i have a error in Log, but the update (download) have succesfully work. Strange, i can't explain that...













EDIT3: Okay...it's more clear ! The value of TXT (fake or ipfilter) is write in the preference.ini (badwolf-pawcio), then, it's check the TXT with the value in preference.ini (a manually update with the button "update").
Then, i have write a old value in the preference.ini, and it have updated correctly the file (fake and ipfilter).

APPROUVED, NO PROBLEMS !
(it's just a bad log entry...when you don't have any ipfilter with a newer install, for example...)

ipfilter and fakelist work in the same way... you get the .txt that has the version number, and if it is greater than the one you've saved in the last update you can download the dat.

Another way (in my mod of course) is to delete the fakes.dat and ipfiilter.dat.

If the program can't find them it force the download.
