Hi jimbo7. :)

Did you get telenet.be Internet Fiber 100 ?
What's your modem/router manufacturer and model?
If you put your public IP in the address bar of your preferred browser, what does it happen? (you can know your public ip from mypublicip.com or similar websites)

As an example, I get this (i.e., my router login window):

I indeed have telenet.be Internet Fiber 100
my modem/router is wireless gateway CBN model CH7465LG-TN (delivery by telenet)
i have a public IP(i think i can't publish it on a forum for safety reasons,or not?)
I must notify you that the CBN router is connected in the living room(downstairs) with a laptop pc (wireless)(also in the living at a distance of 7m and with
a desktop PC (This PC)(upstairs) with powerline adapters Telenet PG-9073-TN with a theoretical speed of 1Gbps on this PC

hoping you can help me,
kindly regards,

I can't find that model and its manual.

If you get your modem-router login window when you put your public ip in your browser address bar, you can set up your router to get a high id on emule:
1) reserve an ip address for your NIC mac address (or set up a static ip in your tcp/ipV4 properties, if the reservation function doesn't exist in your router settings).
2) create a port forwarding rule, in the port forwarding - port mapping - virtual server section of your router settings.

Detailed steps:
  • enter in your router settings
From windows run window launch this command:
    cmd /c ipconfig |findstr /i /c:"gateway" & pause

    I get:
       Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
       Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
Press any key to continue . . .
Put that ip in your browser address bar and you'll get the router login window.
Seeing at my example: http://192.168.1.1 (but you should use your ip obviously).

  • find the "reserve ip address" function location and set it to get always the same ip
It is usually in the DHCP section of your router and it usually needs the ip address you want to reserve, the host name (the name of the pc) and the NIC mac address.
Seeing at my example: I have 192.168.1.1 as gateway, hence the router can manage the ips in the range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
Some routers define the ip address pool (i.e., 30 ips starting from 192.168.1.2 included), others want a range (as an example, from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200); they have usually a default value.
You can find those three data using this command:
    cmd /c ipconfig |findstr /i /c:"ipv4 address" & hostname & getmac & pause

    I get:
       IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.3
    XILOLEE

    Physical Address Transport Name
    =================== ==========================================================
    00-FF-83-70-32-A0 Media disconnected
    11-A8-33-1A-43-46   \Device\Tcpip_{AB8642A4-C79E-4738-A9FE-9C0CCB234C7F}
Press any key to continue . . .

Hence the data I must consider are 192.168.1.3, xilolee and 11-A8-33-1A-43-46; you should consider yours obviously, then save the settings.

  • find the port forwarding section and set it
You needs the ip you have set in previous step.
The port forwarding usually asks you:
    rule name: emule
    protocol: both/any/all/tcp-udp
    external start port 7777
    external end port 7778
    internal start port 7777
    internal end port 7778
Sometimes there are two editboxes asking the start-end range: 7777 - 7778
Sometimes you can use a comma or a hyphen to specify the ports (old routers): 7777,7778 or 7777-7778
You can use any numbers you prefer in the range 1-65535, but I suggest you to use two consecutive ports.
    Save the settings.

  • Open emule and modify the ports in options connections with the two you chose in the previous step.

  • Close emule, restart pc and router.

INCONCEIVABLE! - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

When I enter in the internet explorer Adressbar ,my public ip adress (found from mypublicip.com i got the message IExplorer cannat make connection with (my ip)

When I execute cmd c ipconfig|findstr /i /c"gateway" &pause i got the message Default Gateway .................:fe80::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxx%xx (which is a IPv6 adress I think.),cannot make connection
(X for safety reasens)

I've enabled IPv4 and IPv6 by properties of LAN connection(on this PC)

If you aren't able to access to your router login window using your public ip (http://your.public.ip.x), then probably you don't get a real public ip.
Maybe you can find more information on your ISP website, or you can call them to know how to do: ISPs usually can provide a public ip for free or at some costs, but sometimes this isn't possible.
If you aren't able to access to your router login window even when using your private gateway, then you can't neither try to set it.
Common router gateways: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, 192.168.2.1, 192.168.1.254, 192.168.0.254, 192.168.2.254, 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2, but there could be other combinations.
Have you got one of those gateways? If you don't know, check your connection details.

Spoiler

In the worst case, you can use emule even with low id.
Reading your ISP website, it seems you are limited to 200GB upload/download for each month.
I have found nothing about the public ip...
And (translated from French, using google translator):

Quote

Concretely, we restrict (if necessary) the upstream bandwidth of P2P traffic during periods of greatest affluence. In this way, everyone can use a minimum of upstream bandwidth.
We protect our network by providing maximum sending bandwidth for P2P traffic.
P2P users only notice an impact in case of very high simultaneous P2P usage in the same region (ie temporary).
We distribute the total bandwidth of P2P traffic equally among all P2P users.
We reserve at least 50% of the total transmission bandwidth for non-P2P traffic.
In high traffic areas, this can be as high as 85%.

jimbo7,
try to read telenet.be forum; there must be topics about port forwarding.
Access to router settings from WAN side (public IP) could be disabled intentionally.

Hi,fox88 & xilolee

I know my public IP:84.xxx.xxx.xxx
in' my telenet' section from telenet I think I found my router gateway adress: 192.168.0.1

now I would like to know if it is possible To immediately port forward the router via 'My Telenet'-my internet-wireless connections-advanced
and then using the tab 'IPv4 Firewall@Port Forwarding'

Try both http://84.x.x.x (put your real ip) and http://192.168.0.1: do you get the router login window with both?
If yes, most likely you could be able to do the port forwarding successfully.
If no, most likely you coudn't.
If you can access to it only with 192.168.0.1, you can try the port forwarding, but the success is not guaranteed...

The problem is you don't know the username/password of your ISP router, hence you won't be able to create the port forwarding rules because you can't get access to the router settings.

You can check physically under the router if there are username and password.
Sometimes you can get access to it through your account on your ISP website (fastweb users in Italy were able to do it).

Or maybe I didn't understand you and have you got access to your router settings?

Hi,erik6,

alvast bedankt
