I've just downloaded and installed the last stable version of Emule but unfortunately When I try to start it, it just says "emuletorrent.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly..."
So Im' on win 10, 64 bit.
I have allowed Emule in windows defender, and then I turned the firewall off but it didn't change anything.
Any idea ?

You didn't download emule official version.
I think that could be also infected with malware.
Hence my suggestions are:
1) uninstall it
2) do some malware scans with at least two different tools
3) download emule 0.50a (stable release) or emule 0.50b beta1 (it's stable even if it says it's beta) from the official download page (that's on sourceforge.net).
Portable/zipped package exist for both versions.
Download links for emule 0.50b beta1 ---> https://sourceforge..../0.50b%20BETA1/

Just update my pc with Windows 10, did the download emule official version and it doesn't start.
When I try to test the connection it gives me this message...
Please wait while the ports of your eMule are being tested...
Testing IP: bl5-101-119.dsl.telepac.pt (82.154.101.119)
Obfuscation: Disabled
Starting TCP connection test...
TCP test failed! UDP test will not be performed.
Connection test finished.
Results in detail:
TCP connection test failed.
It was not possible, to establish a TCP connection to your eMule.
Other users will only be able to connect to you with the help of a server, resulting in a low ID for you. While eMule still works, this will give you several disadvantages. Therfore it is highly recommended to solve this problem.
How to resolve port problems... Something is interfering with your network communications. There are two main reasons for this:
If you are using a firewall, ensure that your firwall don't block the required ports! You might need to set a rule to allow the ports to be available.
If you use a router, make sure that your router forwards the required ports to your local IP!
You can find more details and guides here in the online help.
Already check the firewall and can't see the problem
Can anybody help me?
Thank you so much.
Best,
Lib

The emule port test webpage should also add a third main reason: your ISP could not allow you to have a high-id even if you set the firewall and the router.
First thing to know is if the ISP gives you a (real and not limited) PUBLIC IP or not.
Read this recent topic (click)
If you have it, you can set your router (automatically with upnp or manually in its port forwarding/virtual server and in its dhcp sections) and your firewall (ingoing and outgoing directions) to have a high-id.
If you don't have it, just set your firewall.

Similarly, I've also just upgraded to Windows 10. I've used emule for many years. Emule starts but now i have a low ID. Ive checked that the static ID is still active and all the setting seem to be as per before the Windows upgrade when emaule was working great. I did a Ports Test and

Any suggestions?

Thanks fox88. Before I read your post I tried closing emule and shutting down the pc. After the fifth time I got a high ID (no idea why!) but now my access to the Kad netwrok is inconsistent. Will try your suggestion and hopefully rectify this. I've deleted the rule for emule in Comodo.Do I also need to delete the rule for gnutella as well?
Found this while researching the problem

Is there a different emule for Windows 10? I'm runnning 0.50A

In that state another useful action might be to power cycle the router (or reboot it).
You were writing about static ID above; make sure you have correctly set static IP instead.

It should have been mentioned. otherwise I assumed you were using standard Windows firewall.
All protection software should be configured to allow eMule.
What I disliked about Comodo was that it asked from time to time to allow packets even though all traffic was allowed for eMule.
Comodo was not very lightweight for the system also.

No, unless both use the same port numbers. That would be incorrect configuration.

emule.com is an infamous distributor of scam eMule.
Please do not use it. To get real eMule use Download button at the top of the screen on this site.
There is no special Windows 10 version, but 0.50a should be fine.
