Hi, I am trying to download a file, and when viewed in my downloads list, it shows there are no available sources, but a search for that file shows a number of available sources, including a number that are complete. Can I force it to connect to those sources? I am using aMule 2.3.1 (I had issues registering on their forum, so I figured I would ask here.}.

Hi!
You can check where the sources are connected and can try to connect there, to speed up contacts.
Go to these links and enter your ed2k link:
http://ed2k.shortypower.org/
http://edk.peerates.net/check.php?lang=0

By the way, if you are using ipfilters, you could be excluding some useful sources.

First of all what problem are you having while trying to register on our aMule forum? post it here so I can get it resolved. Now far as second part goes as xilolee advised first verify the file has valid sources in verified server which you can do by entering the hash and looking it up. If you can verify the file is valid and you still can't connect then we have work to do as it will get complex from then on.

Which platform is aMule deployed on?
Which package are you using aMule-GUI or aMuleD with Remote-GUI/WEB/CLI?
Is everything upto date? (server.met/nodes.dat/ipfilters.dat)
Did you fully config aMule properly? (amule.conf)
Did you fully port forward on machine and switch?
Are you able to download anything at all?
Do you have ED2K: HighID/KAD: Ok status?

Post back here ill help you troubleshoot and get you up and running.

I didn't get the confirmation email.

You mean what Linux distro? In that case it's Ubuntu 14.10.
I'm not sure, it's the one that is available from the Ubuntu Software Center.
It's pretty much out of the box other than using non default ports which were being blocked.
I'm not sure.
Yes, I have no issues downloading files.
Yes.

Well as your using standard mono aMule 2.3.1 and everything is setup correctly on your end. This could just be less useful source as they could be unavailable or busy, it happens that’s P2P for you there is nothing you can do about it as its out of your hand. But PM me the username you registered on forum along with the binded e-mailed address to it so I can have an admin manually invoke it.
