Now that Source-Forge seems to have gone rogue are eMule developers going to do something about it or is eMule safe?

I don't think they have gone all rogue actually, but in either way there isn't much we can do about it. Of course our releases should be altered or taken away we will move them away from SF - it's not a big problem, the website and everything has always been hosted by us so we "only" would need to find another download provider. But until than we will stay with SF, they still have some credits for the last 13 years of hosting our files in my oppinion.

I would recommend to read about SourceForge on SourceForge itself, too.

While we had recently tested presenting easy-to-decline third party offers with a very small number of unmaintained SourceForge projects, we discontinued this practice promptly based on negative community feedback. At this time, we present third party offers only with a few projects where it is explicitly approved by the project developer, or if the project is already bundling third party offers.
