I searched for a file that I previously downloaded, so the search result is in red (Files already in the download list are shown in red). I click to download but nothing happens - it is not added to the transfer window.
How can I get emule to forget it has already downloaded this file?

Check first the known column: if it says shared, you already have got that file in your shared files list; if it says downloading, you already have got that file in your downloading/partial files list.

ok, I understand now. I've found it under shared - I didn't realise I still had it!
