Hi folks,

As part of my dissertation research, I am interviewing people (like myself) who participate in the practice of online file-sharing of copyrighted digital television content. I am interested in the reasons why participants download television content from file-sharing sites and how that activity might be politically or economically motivated and how file-sharing sites help build online communities.

You can help with this research if you participate in file-sharing of television content and are willing and enthusiastic to share your story with me. Your help with this research will consist of an interview with me, which is more like a friendly conversation about how we watch television in today’s mediated world. I will ask you questions about how you get your digital television content, what content you get, your activity on the site you get your content from, and the reasons why you choose to get your content this way instead of via traditional distribution methods like cable, Netflix, or Hulu.

If interested, or need further information, please contact me. I will send you the waiver of written consent form for you to review, which includes the benefits and risks of participating and the steps I take to protect your confidentiality. Or, if you want me to field questions via this forum thread, that's cool too. Ask away. Thanks for reading.

The only requirement is that you are over 18 years of age.
