Hi,
I don't know how many GNU/Linux users around here. Share your experiments with wine please.
Which mod do you prefer and what's the situation of memory/cpu usage comparing to the Windows ?

Hi omeringen :)

My brother's pc said:
kmule on xubuntu: cpu 1% - rss/private bytes 179MiB - vsz/virtual bytes 2618MiB
(taken now from easy-to-use task manager)
193 files in transfers tab, 2763 shared files

And my brother says that it works better than wine+emule, used with debian-kde, xubuntu-xfce, kubuntu-kde, mint-mate.
When he took emule maximized, the cpu was around 40%.
When he took emule minimized, the cpu was around 1-2%.
Ram was around 200MB.
But when emule went in crash, or during its closure, ram increased a lot.
INCONCEIVABLE! - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Thanks for the reply.
I am interested in Ram usage actually. I have tried StulleMule/MorphXT, ram usage is increasing dramatically on a long session(even when i disable most of the features).
Is that 179 MB kmule ram usage increasing on a long session ? (at least 24 hrs) And what's the ram usage difference comparing to the Windows ?

I am gonna check kmule. Let's see what will happen on a long session.

kMule has some tweaks and fixes for WINE users which may be the reason for that :)
It's definately nice to get some information :flowers:

Ram usage is raising but slowly. Started with 33 MB, raised up to 64 MB on a 28 hours session. I don't like non-dlp mods but it's the only mod i can use for now. Thanks for the info.

Even though I don't like the DLP approach, you could suggest that someone creates a DLP version based on kMule - but I'd wait for the next release. :flowers:

Yeah but it wont be up to date comparing to kMule because someone else will maintain that mod. I am not against the CA but i hate uploading to leecher mods. It's not the right place to discuss this. I'll check other mods which has dLp support time to time.

bTw, it's nice to see GNU/Linux users here. :flowers:
