HighID on servers?
What did you try?
Did you try do download new nodes?
Did you try to delete nodes.dat file?
Do you actually download files?

Bootstrap KAD from known sources, if you have any downloads with decent number of sources.

Hi, tibet73,

This may sound silly, but when you lose power, all sorts of inexplicable things can happen. I have been computing since the middle 1980s, and I've seen just about everything weird that a computer can do.

Unplug your router or modem, or both, from the power source.

Shut down your computer and turn it off.

Restart your router/modem, and then restart your computer.

Then crank up eMule and see if it doesn't start working properly again.

A power failure can mess up everything.

i virtually tried everything written on the forums except opening new ports including all of the above. I have an old run-down computer emule on that one works but this one still don't,,,
for the last question; I can't download anything since I am not connected, I added old temps directory to emule and they all show up on my transfer list.
thanks for the reply

i also tried connecting without router straight from modem, and i also refreshed the computer, on windows 8 this is a new feature it sets the computer back to factory settings without changing your folders and files. next step i am about to do is reinstall windows, as i said this computer has no meaning without emule

What dots? You did not try anything useful here.
Read again: you need downloads with good number of sources.
That means you must be connected to ED2K. If you have no files in downloads, or those have no sources, add any popular file with many sources.
KAD must be stopped. Then select From known nodes and press Bootstrap.

i can not connect to ED2K either, and i also have popular files in downloads, i even went further to reinstall windows and start all from scratch but nothing changed. i also tried "select From known nodes and press [i]Bootstrap", still hopeless. i have read everything written on the forum about this issue and tried every single step recommended,,,
i really don't know what else to do??
please help

You've got connectivity problems, like messed up networking in Windows. It's not about only KAD or ED2K.

Popular files have many sources. To get sources you must be connected, but you were not.
