I am running occasionally eMule from my Notebook.

In order to be on the safe side when I accidentially loose my notebook (or it gets stolen) I want to
protect somehow eMule and its config data.

I can imagine that there is a built-in eMule protection which prevents a full start of eMule without entering the login password.

Moreover this password could be used to encrypt (+decrypt) all the config files.

Is this somhow possible?

Hiding *.part and *.part.met is not important.

No.

Create a new account on your pc, ensure that in eMule, in Options -> Extended -> Sharing eMule with other computer users is Each user has its own configuration and downloads and protect your pc account with a password, then encrypt your files.

Ok, does that mean that if

1. I start eMule inside account "Karl" then
2. logoff "Karl"
3. login into account "Peter" on the same computer
4. eMule is still running (in background) within account "Karl"?

Other question: You wrote "encrypt your file"

How do I "encrypt my files"?
Shouldn't this be done from within eMule?

No.
eMule MorphXT and other mods can do this, read Run as a service by leuk_he.

Create an account, Karl, and another account, Peter, login as Karl, install eMule, in eMule, in Options -> Extended in Sharing eMule with other computer users set Each user has its own configuration and downloads, encrypt eMule config folder (read below) and create a Windows logon password.

Login as Peter, if you want you can run eMule, but it's Peter that runs eMule: another config foler, another eMule.
If you want to run Karl's eMule when you are logged in as Peter right click on eMule, choose Run as... and type Karl as username and Karl's password as password.

To encrypt a file or folder you can use Windows built in facility: right click on a file or folder, choose Properties -> General -> Advanced... and choose Encrypt contents to secure data

eMule cannot encrypt files.
