I think I want this because of every kMule user need to choose what kind of ratio preferences they prefer. It needs to be determined by users. This kind of freedom should give to the users. Some users like give high uploads some don't...

So everyone should be free to choose to be a leecher instead of a sharing member of the eMule network?

I beg to differ.

AFAIR real bans are take from vanilla mule :)
Restarting clients (e.g. for testing) often causes "fast reask" bans.

I realize that if there are only bad clients that I will eventually UL to them. It just seems like I'm always seeing bad clients UL off me yet my 2 clients are banning each other. For me it kinda seems like all CA is doing is providing me with some personal Schadenfreude by pointing out all the really bad clients I'm UL to.

I guess you mean if someone is testing multi clients and start/restarting frequently. tbh I havent been doing a lot of restarts. There were some rare files I was DL which the few sources were UL so I didnt want to be stoping/starting. Now that I think aboot it the problem might be with finding sources. Plus its kind of a pain to see all the afaf you have with another client, and see who is banned. I'm having problems keeping the 2 clients as friends to so its hard to send a msg between them with a src link. When this used to happen I would always just use the IRC. :-k

Punishing "full HOS" may be indeed an option :angelnot:

Well technically any mod with CA that has Anti-HOS + ICS both can also be used in a different way to detect leech behavior for the GPL rule breakers. i.e. official eMule doesnt have ICS or HOS. ;)

Sure ICS would not be considered extremely bad behavior by any means but if its in an unlabelled mod its still potentially suspicious behavior.

@Ramyth: NO. Official eMule is already *very* unfair, e.g. you can upload 10kB/s and download @1000kB/s but if you can upload, let's say 3kB/s, you can't download @300kB/s but less than 3kB/s instead. For the sake of the network, the "upload 10kB and get all DL you want" should be removed.

@Boags: Well, ICS is a nice feature - whether some mod publishes his string or not, I won't punish that... fully hiding a file is a different thing, tho...

Yeah, 10KB/s limit maybe made sense 5+ years ago, but not in 2013 where most of ppl have at least 10Mbps in both directions... especially with highly asynchronous lines that have 1Mbps upload and 20Mbps download...

Not in Germany where heavy ADSL is usual.

Neither in italy... Someone is neither reached by adsl lines!
Anyway, it should be guaranteed 2Mbit (or 640kbit) downstream and 256kbit (32kB/s) upstream, but reality is different.
Fast connections are: 20Mbit downstream and 1Mbit upstream, and fiber optic (100Mbit?).
INCONCEIVABLE! - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Did you honestly believe that I intended to punish a mod for having ICS? Now thats just silly talk.

You know I am 1 of the biggest ICS supporters out there. However dont forget what ICS does, then take into consideration what leechers do. i.e. bad mods + ics = mods hoarding most rare chunks :furious:

How aboot adding a manual recheck firewall button in the network info win?

I also miss verbose. What aboot adding a verbose win to the lower split win in transfers tab? i.e. when you have the split win in transfers tab, DL at top, UL at bottom, the buttons on the bottom win to toggle between UL, DL, On queue, known clients - add verbose

Also, I noticed it still says "low id" in at least 1 place, i.e. "cant connect low id to low id"

I know its extremely minor but since you removed low id term it would probably make more sense to update it to: "cant connect firewalled to firewalled"

Then you could do a brand new feature: Firewalled to Firewalled callback

Yes, that's in fact a miss :)
You can access the logs (and verbose) by double-clicking the status bar... IMHO the default user doesn't need any logs. :angelnot:
Manual rechecks aren't necessary as eMule has a built-in automatic re-check that was added in one of the last versions. :flowers:

Cool, thx for the nfo.

Good idea. In certain situations it can be tricky to know what it is doing or not doing sometimes without the normal windows and usual manual interaction. What got me thinking aboot it was there was a ice storm where I live and my power went out and when it came back on and I restarted my PCs and launched my kMules I realized I had no internet. The power outage completely reset my router and by the time I realized what had happened and reconfigured all my router settings all of my nodes would have been deleted from trying to connect the entire time with no connection. In a no connection availabale situation does it know to auto re-DL nodes when the connection is back? or would a user have to know that they probably have no nodes and restart it? (theres no longer a simple way to check how many nodes you have)
