Would you mean that you have got two emules running, with two different PIDs?

That's what it looked like to me too, but I don't have two instances of eMule running. The other processes were not running either.

Less than 3 minutes! I am downloading at a low rate from very few sources - Found sources 226, On queue 17.

Comodo Active Connections shows only eMule trying to connect through port 64662 with connections to 4 external IP addresses.

start - run - write: cmd /c TASKKILL /F /FI "PID eq 2640" - press enter

It should kill the other emule (sorry for being too cruel), then disconnect and connect...

Are you using different accounts on your pc?

I am the only user of this PC and use only one account.

Wherever the "other" emule came from, it is not running since I rebooted - gone back to the donkey sanctury perhaps. But, just to be sure...

C:\Documents and Settings\Account>cmd /c Taskkill /f /fi "PID EQ 2640"

Comodo Active connections is really interesting, it shows the cumulative downloads through each connection TCP IN port 64662.

What I don't understand (among many things here) is why am I clearly able to get downloads (albeit not enough and not fast enough) through that port if eMule says it is unreachable?

Yes, you should check now if you have two emules (yet), check their PIDs and kill the unwanted one (if it exists...)

Low IDs clients can upload/download too...

Yes, Low ID can upload/download, but since 06/06/2012 23:44:19 I have had a continuous connection:
eD2K Network
Status: Connected
IP:Port: XX.XX.XX.XX:64662
ID: 7101594
Low ID

eD2K Server
Name: eMule Security No1
Description: www.emule-security.org
IP:Port: 91.200.42.46:1176
Version: 17.15
Users: 45,694
Files: 10,462,333
Connection: Obfuscated

Kad Network
Status: Firewalled
UDP Status: Open
IP:Port: XX.XX.XX.XX:64672
ID: 1318047757

With that Low ID I have been uploading at a steady rate of around 45 kbps (even though my limit is set at 160 kbps) and I have downloaded a very small part of a couple of file - Up: 1.26 GB, Down 44.58 MB

Definately only one instance of eMule runnning.
No other process attaching to TCP port.
No TCPIP warning events since I increased the number of TCP connections.

Can anyone see anything of value that might help me from all the data I have posted in this topic?

Would I lose anything by removing and reinstalling eMule?

upload limit 160?

Don't you have these values?

Quote

Internet connection type – 8000/512 ADSL
Dl/Ul capacity – 600/64
Dl/Ul limits – unlimited/40

To me you should disable ipfilters, firewalls (comodo and windows xp firewall, this should be disabled from control panel ONLY and not from services!), and recheck your router settings.
Upgrade your router firmware maybe could help too.

I had those settings, but was trying to see if my Dl speed was affected by sharing more to gain more credits and to see if I could use more of those TCP connections I made available by increasing from 10 to 200.

I have changed back to the original settings:
Dl/Ul capacity – 600/64
Dl/Ul limits – unlimited/40
Max new connections /5 sec :20
Max half open connections :9

IP Filter file has been disabled earlier.

WinXP Firewall has never been used and is disabled through Control Panel Security Centre.

Comodo is temporarily disabled.

Still the same loss of High ID, loss of the connection and TCP port "unreachable" in minutes.

Does anyone know why this happens?

I have also run with a Dlink DSL524 router bridged to work as a modem only connected directly to main PC giving direct connection to internet. This gives the same results.

Can you re-try this? (without neither firewalls nor ipfilters)

Your eMule shows signs of network overload. Increasing connectivity parameters in this situation is wrong.
If you are running more than one p2p application in your local network, make sure they would not cause overload.
That includes the number of connections and bandwidth usage.
