I am not exactly sure why, but my BootStrap button is un-clickable. I am sharing plently of files and people are connecting from me from both the server I am on, and the KaD network, but it never allows me to click the BootStrap button.

I have read the guides, added the nodes.dat from the website mentioned on one of the guides here. My firewall is fine I have a High ID, ports are working, etc.

Basically, I am not sure if this is supposed to happen (IE I am connected to the KaD network), or if it eventually becomes clickable, I just want to know is all.

Thanks in advanced.

Should you have read this topic and provided useful data, it might be easier to tell you if it's alright or not. For example, the button is disabled when you are connected.
I cannot even get the KAD stare from your message: Not Connected, Connecting or Connected?

My apologies, I did not see that topic.

To answer your question directly: I am connected to KaD. Is it normal for the BootStrap button to be greyed out after be connected with Kad?

As for the the stuff mentioned in the topic you linked me to:

Pc Configuration
- Operating System - Windows 7 Professional x64
- Internet connection type (Bandwidth, Eg: 1024/320 DSL) - 800 KB per second download, 80 Upload. Not sure what you would classify that as. It's high speed internet
- Modem, Router, Proxy (manufacturer and model) - DLink DIR-601
- Firewalls - Eset Smart Security + Antivirus 5
- Antivirus - Eset Smart Security + Antivirus 5
- Spyware detector - Eset Smart Security + Antivirus 5
- Emule Version - 0.50A

Emule Settings (Options tab)
- Dl/Ul capacity - 120, 60
- Dl/Ul limits - 120, 60
- Hard limit - 800
- Max Connection - 750
- Activated networks (ED2k, Kad, Both) - Both, and Connected on Both with High IDs
- Max. new connection/5 secs (Options -> Extended) - 40
- Max half open connection (Options -> Extended) - 25
- Ports TCP/UDP - 6667, 6668 (Ports are open on my Firewall and Router and they test correctly too)

Emule General
- Numbers of servers in your server list (How to get a good server list) - 12
- High ID or LowID - High ID
- Number of downloading files and average number of sources - 1
- Number of shared files - 70
- Used server name and IP (eg: DonkeyServer NO1) - eMule Security No2 - 91.200.42.47:3883
- Internet Service Provider (ISP) -
- Is Protocol Obfuscation enabled? - Yes.
- Found sources (Statistics -> Transfer -> Downloads -> Session -> Found sources) - 16

Don't worry, be happy! :)

No really, all is well, Bootstrap = Connect. So it's only natural it is greyed out when You are already connected.

Your settings also seem mostly fine, I only see a little inconsistency maybe :

Quote

- Internet connection type (Bandwidth, Eg: 1024/320 DSL) - 800 KB per second download, 80 Upload
[…]
- Dl/Ul capacity - 120, 60
- Dl/Ul limits - 120, 60

It doesn't quite fit together. Any special reason to limit the d/l speed so much ?
And personally I would not want the u/l limit to match exactly the specified-to-eMule u/l capacity - I guess it looks ugly in the statistic graphs ?
(A limit of 60 for a 80 (real) capacity seems sensible to me.)

Quote

- Hard limit - 800
- Max Connection - 750
[…]
- Max. new connection/5 secs (Options -> Extended) - 40
- Max half open connection (Options -> Extended) - 25

Hm, ok, as long as you or any other computer connected to the same router does not suffer from unresponsive browsing webpages - ok.
With only 1 download with only 16 sources, and no-idea how many clients in your waiting queue it doesn't look as if your eMule currently gets anywhere near those limits.

Should you someday - with a more busy eMule - run into troubles, then you can try to lower those values.
Until then it is not necessary.

Happy muling

PS can anybody here use the buttons in the editor - [b]old , quote etc. ?
I have javascript enabled.

Good to know. I was worried as I hadn't try KaD before, this was really my first time giving it a try.

I messed up when I posted by Upload speed. The Capacity is 80, the limit is currently 60.

Download speed is limited mainly because I'm doing stuff online at the same time. I used to set it much higher in the past, but overall I rarely see it go over 60 Kb/Sec when downloading.

Thanks for the reply, it is much appreciated.

If eMule does not have much activity it also would be pointless to set high limits. There really is no need to set it higher than the defaults, which is 20 and 9. Moreover, some people had to go much lower than the defaults in order to keep stable connection. By the way, DLinks were never considered to be high-performance routers.

As to bold or italics - both buttons and keyboard shortcuts work fine in Firefox for quite some time.

Excellent.
It would be hard to guess because I always use option "Keep cookies for current session only". :)
