Hi,

I'm a long time user of eMule and I'm quite used to configure my router's forwarding in order to get a High Id. I recently moved and changed my router. I now have a single computer in the house, but need a router for my phone line, wich is provided by Distributel (Canada). It is a linksys SPA2102.

I've tried everything on this forum and elsewhere, but can't get any High Id. My port tests for the TCP protocol all fail and I can't get the Upnp to set it up for me. I called Distributel for help, but their tech couldn't even give me the right default username to get into the router's settings... I found it elsewhere, but as I said, nothing works even though everything is set up correctly.

What's wrong? I run eMule 0.50a on a Win XP machine and I have a fixed IP. I use AVG Free edition 2012 as an anti-virus and Comodo free edition as my firewall. I didn't make any change in those since I moved. Thank you very much.

Yup. No good came from it.

Edit: Ha, I don't know if it might be this... This site is asking for a static IP adress that begins by 192.168.0.x. Mine has been 192.168.15.x before I got it static. I didn't change it, so my static adress is still beginning by 192.168.15.x. Is it related to my problem? If so, how can I change this?

It would be simpler if both PC and the router are in the same subnet, like 192.168.0.* - or 15, or anything else.
There is Static IP Address guide, and it is referenced in the forwarding article you've seen.

They already are. Both my router and my comptuer are in the subnet 192.168.15.*.

We still have no idea, what is causing Low ID. The standard procedure would be to eliminate things that might possibly block ports.
What type of connection you have and can you connect without router? Disabling (sometimes uninstalling) protection software for the test also could be tried.

Sorry for the answer delay; I was out for the Easter vacations.

Ok. I use a naked DSL Line to get my ADSL 6 internet connection. My modem is a Speetouch ST516 v6. It is pluged in the wall and then to a Linksys Spa2120 Voip router, wich then again is pluged into my computer. I also have a VTech Dect 6.0 phone model CS6429-2 pluged in the router. I use AVG 2012 free edition as my antivirus software and Comodo Firewall.

I deactivated my antivirus software. Still low id.
I deactivated my firewall. Still low id.
I unpluged my router to use only my modem. Low id (!) I was sure the router was the problem...
I also tried to unplug the phone from the router without unpluging the router itself. Low id.

All those tests were made separetly.

Ouch! Am I going to find a solution? :-S

Your modem ST516 v6 its also a router. So you have to forward the ports in it to the WAN ip of Lynksys router.

Hey, thanks! Still, I couldn't try setting it, because I'm unable to log into it... The user manual says the default username is "Administrator" with a blank password. forward.com says it's "admin" and "admin". Neither works for me. I went on a lot of forums and tried a lot of combinations, too, but to no avail.

Could I still ask for some more help?

Ask direct questions, not for abstract help.
I think you should connect PC directly to the modem. Ask ISP about the password or see if there is a way to reset it to factory defaults.

Ok. I reseted the modem and I can now log into it. I followed the steps on portforward for the ST516 v6 (link). No good, still low id.

I couldn't follow exactly the very last step of this tutorial, though, as my computer wouldn't appear in the device box. I chose "user defined" instead and entered my computer's static IP. Is it related to the fact that my st516v6 modem is not on the same subnet (192.168.1) than my computer and my Linksys Spa2102 Voip router (both on 192.168.15)? If so, how can I change my modem's (or router's) subnet?

You have to know the WAN ip of your Lynksys router. Then forward ports in your ST516v6 to that ip.
