hello everyone.

from time to time I am still using the latest ZZUL mod. Normally I am using the 0.50a offical client.
The config files are shared beetween those 2 clients.

The strange thing, when using the ZZUL mod, I always get logs like this:

User emule (2071310819) requested your shared files list -> denied
User emule (2071307740) requested your shared files list -> denied
User emule (2071307425) requested your shared files list -> denied
User emule (2071237418) requested your shared files list -> denied

Does anyone know why I get those messages? with the offical client nothing happens like this.
And strange, that the numbers are always like 207...

Any ideas about this? Who/what are those emules?

thanks in advance

i can see it in emule>options>security>See my shared files/directories :

Quote

This option is used to determine who can view a list of your shared files and directories (it does not affect the sharing of files itself). It offers three settings:

o Everybody
Any client that want to know what files you have shared will be sent an overview of your shared files/directories.

o Friends Only
Only people you have added to your friends list will be able to see your shared files/directories.

o Nobody
eMule will deny all requests for displaying your shared files/directories.

I know this option. It is set to denied of course.

I only wonder why it is always the same client (207.....) who ask for that.

And it doesn't happen with the offical one. Maybe it simply does not show it?

It is no problem at all, just curiosity.

Users keeps requesting a list of your shared files. What's wrong?
This is not something related to any organisation protecting copyrights but the work of some MLDonkoney clients since some MLDonkey clients automatically ask for the list of shared files. You might often see the name "geaiez" used which is the default nickname for MLDonkey clients like "http://emule-project.net" is for emule clients. You might also see other names aswell but just make sure that your client is set to deny permission to view your shared files (on by default) in eMule's Settings -> Files -> See my shared files/directories and choose nobody.

And if it is not an MLDonkey client, it is the same...
Someone would want to see your shared files: this can also be done manually, doing right-click on a client, view shared files (if the client has enabled "see shared files" on "everybody")

Those numbers should be kad ID of those clients/users...

IP is: A.B.C.D

ed2k ID to IP:
(((ID / 16 777 216 - integer (D)) * 256 - integer (C)) * 256 - integer (B)) * 256 = integer (A)

kad ID to IP
(((ID / 16 777 216 - integer (A)) * 256 - integer (B)) * 256 - integer (C)) * 256 = integer (D)

read "integer" as: "the integer part of the result (is (x))"

For example, I will use your first 2071310819: 123.117.177.227 that should be an IP of beijing (china)

thank you xilolee.

I was just before asking if someone could calculate the ID to an IP-adress.

So, chinese clients, hmhm, well, it is okay! interesting.

But I still wonder why the 0.50a client does not show the same logs (using the
same config file). Maybe some code was changed.

Thanks to all of you for your interest.

ok, I noticed that the ip has a pattern,

a,b,c,d

random.random.117.123
or
random.random.116.123
or
random.random.166.123

& all IP are located in China.

you could create a filter to block this kind of flood?

Conclusion: it is probably a chinese mod that has got this function
