Hi, I just read the details about which files to share and which not to share, so I'd like to un share what I already have in the shared queue. I can't figure out how to do this. When I un share the directories it still leaves the previously shared files in the shared queue. Any ideas?

Thanks!

at the emule window, click on "preferences", then click on the "directories" pane at the right, then browse to the folders you have placed check markes at the "shared directories" group.

remember the folders you placed a check mark, and using the windows explorer, find remove the files you do not want to share.

First off, I just wanted to say a big "Thank you" to all the moderators who answer the continual "how do I" questions. Shessh, you'd think these people never used windows before! :P I doubt I would have the patience to answer some of these posts. My suggestion to all newbs....and yes, I am one myself, would be "tinker with your settings in emule and find out what happens" The reason that I say this is that I for one wouldn't read about technical settings on a forum and make changes without understanding what these changes are about. Plain and simple. Get familiar with the program!
Also, as one who is becoming adept at settings and things, it is almost as frustrating for me having to slog through pages and pages of inane questions like "how do I put a shortcut on the desktop" as it must be to answer them. C'mon people, learn about your computer, don't just blindly ask.
Again, my many thanks to the moderators. :respect:

Trying out E-mule the first time but I'm very qurious if it's normal that E-mule takes the beter part of the CPU power (if not all). Everything clogs up and slows down. And beleve me, it is'nt the harware. I've got a supertweaked watercooled top of the bill gaming system. And I also tried it on a dual proc and the same thng hapends (It'l take the power of one CPU completely).

It ceeps nagging about the serverlist on startup, while I added the servers mentioned in an previous post in this forum. and it ceeps losin connection

I've also noticed that by using E-mule the daily log of my firewall is substantial bigger.

conclusion; this is my idea od E-mule now :hammer:

Can anyone give me a difrent thought?

Just switched from emuleplus n beta 3 to emule 0.44a and the only issue I seem to have is that the downloads I had from the old emuleplus will get to 100% and report "Completing (Hashing)" but never finish while emule is running. I can shut down and then start emule again and the very first thing it completes the files. Not a big issue but I was told that this may be due to problems with how emuleplus hashed the files to begin with. I do have a large number of downloads to finish but I do not think I will add any more till these are finished and then uninstall and install emule again. If there is any other fix let me know but I can live with this problem since I am getting better down and up plus no lack of sources.

Just wanted to add my thanks to all those people who have taken the time to post help items. I had a bad time getting everything set up & it definitely still wouldn't be if it hadn't been for your help.
To others trying to get started, keep looking! Most, if not all, of the problems you're running into have been run into before and some generous soul has already taken the time to post a fix. I was frustrated & felt like I'd been through it all for about 3 days before I finally got the coveted "high ID". Your fix is probably there too.

Thanks again to all who post help.

ok, i've read it... it is about my low ID, and the link doesn't work so... I'm going to ask my question anyway....
I know WHY I have a low ID I just don't know how to fix it... Here's my problem: my firewall is blocking my IP adress, so it says that mine is unknown... Now, I have Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, and have no idea how to work this out... I would appreciate it, if someone would just explain it to me.. And yes I know, you probably have explained it a thousand times, but i've been searching for a couple of weeks now and I'm desperate... so please help me!!

ok

first thing thanks,
but I figured it out... it was not my firewall.. It turns out that I'm on a natted connection, so I guess I just have to live with a low ID.
Are there other p2p's that work with natted connections??

Many p2p apps work in nat'ed connections but the effect is the same about ports not being reachable eventhough they don't tell you this. :)

That means your ports are not reachable and you will have less sources for downloads. Can mean slower speeds but not for sure. :)
