So I took a quick look through this thread and found there's no way to tell which modem I have, other than it's a DSL.. Because it doesn't appear to have my type under the modems in the Wizard since every attempt to connect eMule fails. The modem type is "GT701.," whatever that means. Do I know whether it's 1024 kps or whatnot?

Thanks.

Port forwarding, eh? So I followed the directions on the Qwest(what I have) page, but now, I'm wondering what exactly a port map value is. That guide doesn't mention what it's place in the setup is.

"Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.0.1. " :angelnot:

No, I found that particular page, I did what the page said up to where I click the User button. I don't really think that's what I was asking.

Why don't you start a new topic explaining, the most clearly you can, your problem, instead of adding useles replies for the sticky?. Adding a image can be a good idea.

Cheers :D

you ought to open a new topic in the "new user support" forum, explaining your problem in detail. :)

The wrong thing you did is asking for help in a sticky topic, instead of opening a thread for your question. The usual punishment for this thing is stay on your knees for a week, but you are a lucky guy and have to to saty just for half an hour :P.
That problem is usually due to the fact that the file is not a compressed file, but a bad named one, or you are not using the proper zip/unzip program, or the file is a defective one.

Cheers :D

When I download anything I keep receiving messages like "insufficient disk space" and the download crashes. But I have more than 300 GB of free space in my computer. How can I fix it?

Newbie with a couple of quick questions:

1. I can't seem to open or "preview" a file that I'm downloading. I see options for that when I right click on a file, but those tabs seem to be faded/inoperable.

2. How can I limit the # of people downloading from me simultaneously? I've looked under tools and options, but no dice. Right now, 100 seems to be the limit; anything over that number and people are forced to queue.

Thanks for your help.

you can limit "only" your queue length or your upload bandwidth :flowers:
