I have seen many archives that have a password. Some can be previewed while downloading but others are archived mpg files and have to be downloaded completely before finding out. Often, these passwords are either not available at all or they have a text file telling you to go to some free porn site and register. As I and many others have no desire to have our mailbox spammed with porn, this renders the file useless. There are also many files with a setup.exe or [somename].scr which are obvious viruses.

I would like to see a global tag that anyone can put on these files. Anyone currently with all or part of the file will be notified that it has been tagged so they can abort if they wish. This tag should be possible both for part and completed files and upload immediately as a comment to all peers. If tagged, the normal red or green "!!" should be replaced with a red "X". This would allow users to abort the download rather than waste their bandwidth. Unlike the standard comments, the tag remains regardless of the original users status regarding that file. If wrongly tagged, a user with 100% of the file can remove the tag and it is again removed from all clients. If tagged more than x times, the user with 100% can no longer untag it alone, it would require more than one user with 100% on different domains to untag it.

The immediate upload should be done since the user who tagged the file can then delete it without affecting the comment on other peers.

In addition, the tag should also show up on the search results and maybe a filter so they can be filtered out of the results.

It would not work for the same reason that global sites and comments never really worked for fake file.

The preferences.ini can also be opened in the extended options tab.
