Setting the priority of a download never has a discernible effect on the download speed. Maybe I have my priorities wrong?

Priority infuences source assignment in cases when peer has more than one file. It should not have the effect you are writing about.
You really need to study Docs before reporting false bugs and making strange feature requests.

Sorry. But why do you consider this a strange feature request? It was asked for strangely but the implied meaning is still a valid and useful feature.

This one is not a FR, but a false bug alarm.
If you do not know something about eMule it would be right first to ask in General/Support forum.

I do look for the answers in the help section first before asking here but find them impossible to locate as in this case. With a convoluted definition of "download priority" like that you should think twice before calling peoples questions "strange".

U should know something before announcing it a 'bug'.
Download priority affects sources arrangement, not speed. As Fox has stated.
For an example, a file with very limited sources could only wait in their queues... no matter high pri or low pri. High priority only means eMule would focus some sources with other downloading files on THIS download.
Sorry for my poor English.

I called "strange" your topic in Feature Requests forum about configuration, which was then moved to Support.
Should not you read the text more than once - till you get the real meaning?

Sorry, I am pretty new to this stuff. I did read it many times but still could not figure out the meaning but no worries. I just try to ignore priority settings now.
