I keep getting low ID's on some servers, and wondering if it's because they are fake. I checked Win7 firewall and all ports are open to emule (should I limit it to just those it uses? Didn't know if there was a security issue), and my router has the correct ports forwarded.
11/1/2010 7:26:01 PM: Warning Emule Server No1 (94.75.216.6:4666) - No answer from your 18668 port. Please review your network config.

Share Islands gives a high ID, so I figured it might just be these servers are fake. I've been trying to find some new servers, and after I clear out fakes and such, I just end up with 3-4. Is that normal? Thanks for any info.

Thanks, I've tried that before. I just get edonkey No2 (which had been down), TV underground no1, share islands, and tv underground no2. Just those 4. Is that normal and all that's out there?

There's something wrong with both of those servers. In the last couple weeks I've been unable to connect to either because of LowID. I've even shut down the firewall to no avail.

Not sure if it applies here but just a reminder to peeps that if you don't have filter servers too ticked in options, then you will only be able to connect to any servers whose IP's are in your filter with lowID. I expect most of the filters are different, but the recent one I use - the master servers are on it, but emule server no1 (both those in OP) is not. So if you use an ipfilter it's worth checking your server/filter settings if you think you should have highID but can only connect with lowID

I have highID/open ports and connecting just now gave me:

12/11/2010 18:46:53: Connecting to Emule Server No1 (94.75.216.6:4666 - using Protocol Obfuscation) ...
12/11/2010 18:46:53: Connected to Emule Server No1 (94.75.216.6:4666), sending login request
12/11/2010 18:46:54: Obfuscated connection established on: Emule Server No1 (94.75.216.6:4666)
12/11/2010 18:46:54: New client ID is
12/11/2010 18:47:00: Connecting to Master Server 1 (83.233.30.55:4500 - using Protocol Obfuscation) ...
12/11/2010 18:47:00: Connected to Master Server 1 (83.233.30.55:4500), sending login request
12/11/2010 18:47:01: Warning Master Server 1 (83.233.30.55:4500) - Your 18555 port is not reachable. Please review your network config.
12/11/2010 18:47:01: Obfuscated connection established on: Master Server 1 (83.233.30.55:4500)

Exactly what I'd expect with my high ID and the latter server being an "ipfilter server".

Actually, a bit of a hijack by me ( ) and a question to the peeps what know....
when we have these "ipfilter servers" in our list, do they still send us sources when we ask them, despite being lowID to them, or can we only receive sources from them when we are connected to them? i.e. are they useful to have in the list? Sorry for having a blonde moment here :respect:
Are we nearly there yet?
