howdy everybody!

i recently installed a new router (dlink DIR-655, rev B, fw 1.0) and since then, i have not been able to Kad to work properly.

i am using the standard TCP and UDP ports and upnp. the port check on the emule website says all ports are open. using PFPortChecker also reports everything is good.

however when i start emule, i always get a High ID, Kad status is reported open but Kad UDP status is always reported as firewalled,
as an example:

Kad Network
Status: Open
UDP Status: Firewalled
IP:Port: xx.xx.xx.xx:4672
ID: 16594xxxx
Buddy: None

as one would expect, download performance is abysmal.

with verbose logging enabled, emule reports successfully opening the ports via upnp. i have tried using non-standard ports, disabling windows firewall. on the router i have tried both port forwarding and virtual server settings.

i have tried a variety of nodes.dat files, bootstrapping from known clients, uncountable restarts of windows, router, cable modem and emule.

i have not tried going back to my old router because at this point, it is no longer an option.

i'm hoping somebody has a nugget of information or something new to try.

help?!?

thanks in advance

damien

A simple try: disable all firewalls/antiviruses on your pcs/router, restart emule and check if the 2 diagonal arrows on your emule tiny/little globe (bottom-right) are green; if yes, you ought to set better (at best?) your firewalls/antiviruses.

Otherwise:
1) Make sure you know how to reset (to factory defaults) your device and note down the data
for connecting to your ISP.
(in case of troubles, you can reset the router and you'll need those data - vpi -vci - username and password of your connection, and so forth... these data are personal/private, you SHOULD NOT post them here --- ONLY you should know them).
2) name of your ISP, name of your connection and, possibly, downstream and upstream bandwiths
3) How many servers do you have into your list and where do you get them from?
4) Manufacturer and model of your router?
5) Describe how your devices are arranged.
example:
- telephone jack - adsl filter - ethernet modem - router - 3 pc (1 wireless, 2 wired)
6) How many pcs are using p2p programs (emule or others) and which ports they are using.
7) Screenshots of your router menus are welcome:
- UPNP
- DHCP
- virtual server/port forwarding or similar
- eventual firewall screen (of your router)
8) Have you put static ip to your pc (into tcp/properties of your connection properties)?
Here too, a screenshot would be welcome.
9) Which firewalls/antiviruses are present/installed on your pc?
10) Are you using peerguardian/peerblock/ip filters or similars? And what of those?
INCONCEIVABLE! - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Configure your d-link 655 like this, and it should work perfectly:
