why there a tra after zzul, is this a new mod?

I guess it is just a little game played with words, "zzul - tra", "zz - ultra".

Unfortunately it has been YEARS since a "new mod" appeared. Current mods are usually mods of mods of mods of mods.

ZZul-tra is based on ZZul mod and adds a selection of features taken from various other mods.

This sub-forum said zzul and the creator is zz. So it natural to think he's zz or helped him post the new version.
If it a mod of a mod shouldn't it be in the sticky New Mod Release Thread?
There so many mod out there it's confusing and their features. Most of them doesn't explain what they do.

what does start quick start do?

There a lot information of changelog.
Add: Friendlinks [emulEspaa]

that in bracket is where the feature code came from?

why doesn't emule create something like firefox's plugin, It be easier for user. Or a new mod that allow plugin. Since the mod are open source it shouldn't be hard to convert their feature to a plugin.

See, life looks different as you get older. Same goes for software. When you are brand new, "plugins" seems a very good idea. But as you get experienced you understand that actually it is the opposite. Speaking of Firefox, to play a Flash animation as embedded object Firefox launches the Flash Player via the proper plugin. What happens then? That the Flash Player is the worst software ever coded and it wastes resources while opening critical security exploits. And so even IF Firefox gets optimized for performance and security by Mozilla, just because of the Flash plugin poorly coded by Adobe it becomes slow, heavy on resources and insecure. Same goes for "extensions", most of which are coded as hobby. Extensions are well known to degrade the browser performance, to add bugs and probably security exploits. At the end, the less plugins and extensions you have, the better.

Speaking of Emule, to have plugins (that aren't actually a good thing) you should re-work Emule from scratch. But given the current state of the project, the best we can expect is to get an update once in a while. A complete re-working is science fiction.

adobe is close source, they don't help ppl fixed bug. All they care is your $, one they got your $ they don't care who you are. Until they just increase a # next to adobe and ask for your $ again.

There so many dev out there keep making those mods, i'm sure if they work together they can debug plugin. homepage can have a official feature plugin instead of just adding any plugin you saw on net. Those plugin can only be listed if they passed the debugged test. The emule team have many debug-tester.

where does other dev go?

"where is now" is what you can download from this site.
I guess the only goal is to add some feature and fix some bugs, soon or later.
It seems there aren't many developers involved and those few work in their spare time, so the updates come once in a while.

More or less, yes.
There are other projects that aim to develop "compatible" clients in other programming languages like Java or C#, etc.
Google for them if you are interested.

I don't know how many "devs" make "bad" mods but those who publish "good" mods are very few. And very very few nowadays are adding anything new to previous mods.

Sorry but you don't know what you are speaking of.
Not only about Emule but in general about software development.

You know, BEFORE you can debug "plugins" you must REWRITE Emule from scratch and then you must WRITE some plugins.
You are free to find people who are interested and fork Emule in another project.

Feature request:

The PS file comparison used for "find Best client in queue" don't consider the CA analysis, that is pretty bad imo.
