Could someone tell me what is the best server after the fall of 2 edonkey network? Previously,
the best server for emule was 62.241.53.16: 4242, but now conenct more.

The true Razorback also no longer exists.

Always realized that the best servers are the ports that are in 4242. Is there any other substitute?

There is no fastest or best server. They are used to connect to the network and to search for files and sources. eMule asks every server on its list and using Global Search all of them are asked for search results.
Also eMule exchanges sources with other eMule clients and thus finds sources a lot faster this way."

But why after 2 edonkey stopped working, the number of sources found for a particular file is much smaller than before?

Yes xilolee, I read the whole post.

Is that really a few days here, the sources found in emule too fell.
And I'm trying to get a way back to run emule as it was before, because it's bad to find sources and new files.

Do you have highID or lowID? It's harder to get the maximum number of sources if you have lowID I suppose it's possible that with a popular server down that it's more difficult for lowID's to connect to the remaining servers, and that some users may have set that server as static and have connect to static only set, so they're no longer connecting to a server. Those that are connecting to other servers may be connecting to servers that aren't on your list. For files with very few sources this might "reduce" the sources you can find. I wouldn't think it would make a lot of difference to well-sourced files as source exchange should help you find sources that your own serverlist and kad can't find for you.

Are you connected to Kad too?

Are you still downloading the exact same files as when you were connecting to edonkeyNo2 ? Or have the ones with lots of sources finished downloading leaving you with the rarer ones ?

I have to say that I've not noticed any difference since that server went down. My "rare" downloads still don't have a lot of sources, the popular files I download do find sources and finish just as fast as before (afaik - I'm not here mule-watching overnight) I have high ID, usually connect to one of the tvunderground's, Kad too, and have unticked filter servers too in the options - security. I use peerates list and sometimes gruk list. I dont' connect to the "extra" servers - those that are normally filterd, but I figure if someone else is connecting to them that might be a source for me, no harm in me asking them for those sources.

And no more edonkeyNo2 server.

Where to find anymore the good way to search for files and sources, if good server is'nt available anymore ?
