Can a client automatically reconnect to the Kademlia network after it has lost the connection to the network or the entire internet connection has been lost altogether?

I wonder if that is possible and which setting does that?

Thank You!

No, your client can't automatically reconnect to KAD and consequently there is no setting for it.

[Edit]
Erm, actually it does reconnect if the disconnection has been shorter than 20 minutes. But if there has been no sign of incoming activity from the Kad network for 20 minutes the Kad part of eMule simply stops running.

Would it be possible to add such a function / feature to eMule?!

I am asking because fewer and fewer real users are connected to ed2k servers and more and more are connected to Kad.

When my client losses the internet connection, it can reconnect immediately afterward to a server, but it still finds much fewer sources that when connected to the Kad network.

There was a feature request at feature request sub-forum AFAIK.
Some of the mods, Xtreme and StulleMule for ex. have this feature.

Maka a search. If you can't find any related topic, open a new one at FR sub-forum.

I really don't understand why official eMule doesn't reconnect to KAD on IP change. It takes 1 or 2 lines of code to accomplish this.

:flowers: i want this feature, too...when my DSL link are down for more than 10 mins (PPPoE Chap authentification failure on my ISP), the KAD don't reconnect (like always 5 mins for example) to re-use my manual ON/OFF modem tip.
