My problem occurred while testing an a4 based client though. I wasn't sure if that April 2nd fix related to this somehow.

Edit: Just tested it and the issue does not appear on vanilla 0.50a.

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Nice.. Glad to see things still going forwards. Would have been nice to have had those Kad Trees early on when trying to get this sucker working.. :)

It's nice to visually see that it still only takes a few hops to get to your destination.

OMG, Unk himself!

How are you recently? I hope it's all going well with your real life, so you can get back to work on kad someday. ;)

Thanks guys. I can not complain. Wish I could come back (if the current devs agreed), but my current job is already 60+ hours a week. :)

When I see an update, it makes me miss this place and all the friends. Of course, a can't help but look at the Kad graphs above and question it. The straight line on nodes at the top throughout the full search is interesting. What I would have guessed is that they would look more like someone started to draw a U from left to right, but stopped drawing just as it started to come back up. Maybe we only see the very bottom of the curve and the top is cropped down into a line. Hmm..

Hey Unk, nice to hear from you :)

Yes the graph is scaled to focus on close nodes (as those are the most interesting ones), so nodes which are too far away will jsut a line on the top.

try without firewall/antiviruses enabled and restart emule... if you'll get high id, set up them better. :flowers:

ok, i figured it out. using winXP. somehow v.50a requires new sorts of permissions at the firewall exceptions window. i had emule as an exception already, so i deleted it and then re-habilitated it as an exception and then i placed the ports as exceptions as well. one or both of those things was the fix. i hadn't had a lowID for donkeys years. pun intended.

No, it does not. The rules in firewall are tied to the executable file. Built-in firewall is too primitive. When the executable have changed, you needed to delete the old rules and create new ones. A smarter firewall could simply suggest you to update the rules.

  • Good: tabbed sections at bottom of Shared Files (but needs comments section too).
  • Bad and ugly: The new Preview submenu is annoying. I've never had a file I can't preview while letting it continue to download (and upload). Why add a pause option? To confuse novices and slow transfers? To make existing users click yet another time? Please restore Preview without the submenu. (Modders, please note that I'll be more likely to try your mod and take your side on all current/future eMule issues if the submenu is gone in your 50a mod.)

Currently recommending and using: eMule beba 2.63
For slot control only, currently recommending: Tombstone Xtended 1.0 (or higher) if you absolutely must have slot control

i stand corrected.

the reason i was taken by surprise about lowID with this version is that i have never had to redo my exceptions before upon installing a new version.

The help entry for the Kad graph is now available: http://www.emule-pro...2&rm=show_topic

Hi, SS, I have translated [Help&Support]->[The GUI]->[In-Depth]->[Kad Search Details Graph] into Chinese-Simplified.
Still it displays 'pending'. Pls update it.

The proper forum for such translations is here: http://forum.emule-p...hp?showforum=80 . Anyway thanks, i'll look into it soon.

As this MorphXT user, I had almost all my 2700+ files re-hashed (they say MorphXT doesn't modify hashing). No problem, but may be interesting to someone. (I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and Wine 1.1.43 and I haven't performed a clean install.)

Is there any upload slots limit hardcoded? I see exactly 100 uploads and have no idea why I can't get more. I have 20mbit/s internet connection, and 100 users can't fill more than 50-70% bandwidth.
There are 1000-1500 users on queue, and connection limit is set to 2000. But the number of uploads is exactly 100, never 99 and never 101, so it looks like a limit, not calculated dynamically.
I tried to run emule also on second PC, and set upload limit 1024KB/s to them both. And I see, that 2 eMule clients are filling my bandwidth perfectly - both are uploading exactly at speed 1024KB. But one copy of eMule can't upload faster than ~1100-1500KB/s.

From changelog ;
.: The number of maximal open upload slots has been decreased to 100

Except that, eMule limits the number of slots to the "set upload speed / 3 kB". Means, setting uL limit to 60 kB/sec, you'll see maximum 20 slots. (60 kB/3kB = 20)

I suggest you to check mods section. Try a mod with Slotfocus feature.
