It is all said in the error message you get when trying to search for it. Also it didn't worked in earlier versions neither, when you searched for "aaa OR bbb OR ccc OR <...> OR zzz" you only got results which contained aaa (and possibly bbb, ccc etc, but none which did not contain aaa).

It could be fixed instead of making error message :)

<_< If it would have been possible to fix we would have done this. It is a limitation of the Kad network (which always needs one keyword to search) and the only way arround would have been to start simultaneous searches. However that would have meant that everytime your search for "aaa OR bbb [...] OR zzz" eMule would have to start 26 searches which causes a high load on the network - a user can still do it by himself if he really intends to search for that many keywords (or he can fix his query like "aaa AND bbb OR ccc [...] OR zzz" which will work fine.

No it couldn't. All they could do it automatically start separate search requests for aaa, bbb, ccc, etc. Not sure if the devs want that.

No, there will not be a new version of my mods. No, I do not want your PM. No, I am certain, use the board and quit sending PMs. No, I am not kidding, there will not be a new version of my mods just because of YOU asking for it!

I just simplified the answer. Also I thought of how it could be done even if it doesn't seem that smart.

It is possible that async reading is still responsible for those increased values, because async reading can be faster for many reasons and when going to values like 10MB/s some harddisks already reach their limit for random access. In any case we will work further on this area for the next release.

Just to follow this up: The creating of uploadpackets has been reworked for the next release and has its own thread which does overlapped IO requests. While this certainly has several advantages (support for harddisks NCQ feature, better support for multicore CPUs, no interruptions when reading from a very slow medium - like a HD which has to powerup first or DVD, more responsive GUI on very high speed and faster uploads if the HD is on its transfer limits), it doesn't seems to be the current bottleneck when trying to get speeds higher than ~25MBits on LAN tests (remember 0.49c has a ~4MBit limit, so there is already progress nevertheless :) ). I suppose the uploadthrottler thread needs some rework to get this fixed (and it will for the next release i'm pretty sure).

@ SviMik
For your case i'm actually pretty sure eMule isn't enabling the bigger socket buffers if you have set your uploadlimit properly due to some small flaw. It should do so if you set the uploadlimit and capacity to a very high value (like for 50000KBs) or to unlimited - i'm not sure if the bigger buffer actually help in your case at all but maybe you can try it out by time, the feedback would be intresting.

No. The idea was to release a version this year, but what can I say - we have been lazy :/ New idea: Release a version next year.

(On the upside, there are no known severe bugs or problems with 0.50a)

I hate myself by doing this, but: are we going to expect a new version this year?

Not sure. There hasn't been much coding work recently. There are still some changes on CVS which might be nice to be released tho. So we will see.

Oh yes, it's been a while since the last release! A while... lol...

Please bring back some of the old feelings, when a new eMule version was released and everyone was happy :)

I have only download eMule today, and I must say I was getting frustrated with the connection to KAD. But your setting for "use unup for ports" worked a treat. Saved alot of mucking about with my router. :)
