Main changes :

1. Upload bandwidth utilization is match higher.
2. Slotfocus opens not too many trickles slots and when selecting more than 1 slot (i.e. non slotfocus) - slots speed is balanced (most of the time).
3. Upload slots are sorted by client score so that unused upload bandwidth will be given to higher score clients.
4. Heavy leechers are not enjoying Power Share, and they loose their waiting time upon first detection.
5. Few old bugs / misses (by me) are fixed.

Very impressive slot control. Although it seems rough and a bit unstable, the uploading part may be the answer to the slot-stall problem. I'd say your best option is to take your uploading part and replace Katana's uploading and you'd have a nearly perfect mod.

Here's what I like a lot about it:

• Slot limiter, including the GUI for it - no slot stall-drop.
  
• Instant response when increasing slots.
  
• Slot Focus working without slot-drop and limiting the number of slots based on bandwidth.
  
• The ease (because of the above) with which bandwidth randomization is possible.
  
• MinRQR display on downloads (though it could be shortened to MinQR).
  
• Current slots reporting in verbose log - just the reporting with each change, the very readable formatting was a nice extra.

If you want to hear what I didn't like, let me know, but from recent experience with a modder being hypersensitive to criticism, I'll leave that out for now. As mentioned, it could basically be all fixed improved by taking Katana and putting your upload code in it.

Just a small clarification :

SharkX upload is basically old eMF one with 2 changes :

1. zz's tighter packets control.
2. Nice GUI based on the idea introduced on X-Ray.

It includes an embedded slot limiter (old eMF) with slightly altered timing for opening of new slots.
Upload drops do occur (!!!) however they seem to last shorter then on some other mods and without slot focus such drops appear seldom. This leads me to endorse common agreed upon basics :

on most occasions drops are related to other client issues.
slot limiter will usually cause a drop to last longer.

SharkX didn't and likely won't hold any revolutionary massive code changes or any protocol enhancements - I'm simply not that skilled (it does conatin some code fixes or "fixes" from time to time though).

Next SharkX versions - UL system is likely to be altered / derived.

I'm talking about upload slot drops, not drops in the upload bandwidth. It's important not to confuse the 2. You might end up with Stulle trying to hump your leg. More explanation here (provided you ignore all of Stulle's posts) and in the Katana stopic (complete with stat graphs). Maybe you can provide more help than you think with regard to how to keep the slots from dropping below the limit.

Just to keep things simple :

With SharkX user can choose to limit number of slots (that won't change - perhaps a minimum number will be forced) - and then upload bandwidth is more or less spread evenly among those, and slotfocus :

current slot focus implementation in SharkX will change - to what that's for me to make up my mind, however it won't hold a lot limiter just for keeping low number of slots. When upload drops take place (regardless of the reason - however mostly due to other client related issues) - slot limiter backfires : it will make such drops to last longer (just think about the odds to pich up a non problematic client from larger number of candidates).
There are many mods presented on this board - the reason mods are here is that their modders are willing to comply with some stuff. These mods vary in features, GUI, modders skills and more however all these mods are for endorsing sharing - for which upload is vital. Upload is at it's best when upload capacity is highly utilized. Longer drops means wasted upload bandwidth. If slot limiter enhances the chances for wasting upload bandwidth it should be avoided.
It's simple - a lot of modders among which some are often arguing (or used to) are trying to get this message to you. Don't make it to personal issue since some of the modders really know their way around the code (myself excluded)- this is technical and not a dispute about manners ...

BTW: if you are after code changes in a certain mod (it's not likely all mods will change unless official is ...) avoid personal stuff, you need to present your point of view in technical terms. And most of all AVOID fights with this mod team - after all they call the shots and if code changes are to be made they will carry those out ...

That's nice. The point, and compliment, again, is that your mod did not result in a slot drop. I.e., it didn't use only a very low number of slots for an extended period despite having plenty of clients in queue, plenty of bandwidth available, and a higher slot limit set or slot focus on. That's a problem in certain mods, but not SharkX 1.7 or Tombstone Xtended.
