I've got a problem... I hope you can help me
I have a few downloads which turned green (which suppouse to mean they're done), but they are stuck on "husshing"... or something like that for the past 3 days. I'm talking about songs (6.8 mb) and not something really hevy....
I was wondering is that normal? how long will it take for it to be finished? should I start those downloads all over again?
Please HELP!
Thanks
VB.

Are you seeing any error messages in your server log? e.g. make sure that your incoming folder is where emule thinks it is, that it's not read-only, and that the hdd it's on has free space.
To manually finish the file, just right click to see the .part numbers. stop the files. Find the corresponding .part files in the emule Temp folder. Copy it/them to another folder and rename. Play and see if it seems ok. If it is, then delete the original .part and associated .part.met files Before playing tho, bear in mind my first comment - if it's a problem file, its problem could be that it's a virus (and it could be your antivirus software that's preventing it from being written to the incoming folder)
Let us know if you fix the problem, or need other suggestions.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.
I can't really change anything in the files when they're green (I can only see details, coments, serch for links but I can't change the file name or even delete or stop the files.
There are no error massage... Right now I see a massage that says that the server in the list can't be connected... that it's trying to get a connection again. Could that be it? That massage was already on when I started downloading the new file and the file still moved very quickly and justr got stuck at the end.
I tried to download something new but it gets stuck the same as the rest - the line is complitely green and its "finishing up/hushing".
So none of that worked.... the ending is the problem... it's stuck on the hushing part and that's that....
Could there be something else?
Thanks

If you can see details, you can get the part numbers and copy and paste those part files elsewhere, to try the other things I suggested I don't think that not being connected to a server would stop the files completing. (altho' If you're not connected to a server OR kad, then you won't start new download sessions, ) Do you have any servers? Any other messages?

I thought disk space might be a problem in your case, but I've had that one - completed files display ugly (I think) black/yellow bars. If you're using Windows, run CHKDSK - may be some problem is stopping eMule moving the completed files to the Incoming folder.

G'day all
Had the same problem with files turning green but not completing, tried everything from copying - moving the files to a different hard drive but was unable to even achieve this task. I finally tracked the problem to the Hard Drive itself, seems it had some bad sectors on it (brand new drive?). Now to fix the problem - "it does work I've done it"
1. Close Emule & any other programs you don't need running.
2. Go to Computer Management - Storage - Disk Management.
3. Right click the drive with the downloaded files on it.
4. Go to properties - Tools - Error Checking - Check Now
5. Make sure both boxes are checked >
Automatically fix file system errors
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad secotrs and click start
6. When it has finished restart Emule, the files will finish completing without the need to download them again.
Hope this helps, bye for now & happy D/L

I see that finishing them manually works, BUT... You have to rename the track and it's kind of a lot of work if you download a lot. I hope you find the problem and fix it soon.

Oh, and after manually finishind downloads you can't delete the files from your temp folder, because a program (emule) is using them, and you can't remove those hashing files from emule, 'cause it seems you just can't delete a hashing file. So finishing manually is not the answer.

Who knows? Several answers have been given in this thread, like antivirus beeing the cause, or problems with the hard drive, or maybe there are restrictions set in your OS.

How can you know this? Of course it's not impossible that there's a bug in eMule (though I wonder why I have never met this problem then), but why do you think it's impossible that there's a problem with YOUR system aka your PC? Have you checked all the possibilities mentioned here (or elsewhere, since there are other threads about it) and can you rule them out?

Hello there Locksmith,
Yeah so been having this "hashing" issue now for 3 or 4 days and driving me nuts cause it dont look like anything is completing download. So i tried the above as suggested and after hours of running an error check i still have the same eMule issues.
Anyone have any other fixes for this issue? :-)

If you close emule when you do that, the program that is using them is not emule (or not?)
Try reading (the second point) here: I cannot delete a movie. Windows says that it's used by another application (click me)

If you have tried all the other suggestions (check if the disk space is not finished, check if the antivirus scans your temp folder, or if other programs are sharing/checking your temp folder, scan disk, etc.), you could try with:
1) close emule
2) delete all the config files but these: CLIENTS.MET, PREFERENCES.DAT, CRIPTKEY.DAT (, emfriends.met) (<--- you should not delete these 3/4 files)
3) at the emule restart, update the servers and the nodes.dat (peerates and/or gruk for the servers, www.nodes-dat.com for the other one)
4) wait the end of the hashing.

Well Xilolee,
I have manually removed and transferred the files. All but the .AVI files seemed to work well. I then removed them from the TEMP folder and they of course were removed form the eMule transfer list. Now i uninstalled, reinstalled eMule and added one of the files i manually xferred. it was immediately listed as "hashing" again. In the end i got the files. My issues are one that it is now 20+ files i have to rename, annoying but not the end of the world. But the real issue is to stop it so it never happens again. In the end, that is what i am looking to resolve. :-)

Are you sure that the files are ok (and not spam/malware) ?
Is your temp folder shared with other (p2p,antivirus) programs ?
Have you got the official emule 0.49c (downloaded from sourceforge and not from google ads/scam sites) ?
Another attempt could be of trying the tools - import downloads ...
