Hello, I know it will be a pain in the ass for people with the ability to use their opposing thumb, but it is necessary to make a full screen window every time eMule starts with the message:

"Please remember that changing the name of a file is USELESS. The name of a file MUST reflect the content of the file itself. If you change the name of a file with something wich does not reflect the content of the file itself you cannot be considered mentally adequate for the use of a computer."

Regards.
Thank you

Users are generally changing name while they are about downloading files which they don't want them to be seen to the other computer users(like adult material). . . So, there will be no problem while some of your parents-friends are using your computer. All of them know this is not reflecting to the content, the main purpose is showing these files as a normal/usual file.

Maybe we should think about some kind of "making invisible categories-files" feature for transfer list. Like "invisible mod" feature which is currently in some of mods.

That 'useless' message might be built into every OS as well. :P

Hey, i was checking some mods one by one and i see a feature in NeoMule. Don't know the name of the feature but it allows users to hide the files they selected in transfers list with a password. . . It would be better to apply this to the categories. What about that ?

a great idea

Great idea, but can we rather just hide the file from the download/upload windows, or give them am innocuous display name like file1.rar so the file name that appears in the search results is still correct. I don't want my husband to see how many Brad Pitt pictures I have in my shared folder. ;-)

If the code has already been written, how does it get sent upstream? Is it up to the mod dev, or someone else?

I will donate EUR100 to the first version/mod of eMule that can successfully stop a poisoning attack, and allow me to block/distrust/ignore users from sending me stuff, and allow me to block/prevent them from receiving stuff, and not permit users to take or send partial chunks of data.

Until this happens, or until the corruption handling works correctly, please add the following to your IP Filter (ipfilter.dat):
84.128.0.0 - 84.135.255.255 , 0 , Poison, Deutsche Telekom AG
85.176.0.0 - 85.182.127.255 , 0 , Poison, HanseNet Telekommunikation GmbH
92.228.0.0 - 92.231.255.255 , 0 , Poison, HanseNet Telekommunikation GmbH
92.192.0.0 - 92.223.255.255 , 0 , Poison, QSC AG
78.48.0.0 - 78.50.159.255 , 0 , Poison, HanseNet Telekommunikation GmbH

With apologies to the legitimate users of these ISPs who are being unfairly tarred with the same brush as the bad guys.

No, Mod devs have nothing to say about what gets put into official emule. Basically the only time you will ever get any hint of anything ever going into official you probably get a message from SomeSupport. He is the only person on this forum who talks for the Dev team as a whole.

In that case, why do we even have this forum section of the devs don't read it? Does SomeSupport read this forum?

The devs read but they hardly ever reply.

Excluding mod devs, how many devs are there? How many read this forum? 1? 20? 200?

If I didn't forget anybody there should be 3 or 4 active devs.

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
