Well, nice to see the final release is here... thanks a lot :)
I'm very keen on seeing what the next version (not necessarily 0.50a) will bring and I strongly hope that the posts from the beta forum aren't lost as there still were some things to get checked/changed/fixed :flowers:

Is there a list of the specific Windows Vista security changes and what they mean?

New here, and a user of the great program.
Been using 0.49 b without problems, installed 0.49c today, but I get a Data execution prevention error and emule crashes, I turned DEP option off for emule but it still does the same... any thoughts? I had to roll back to 49b

You can't turn DEP off for eMule, as it enforces it itself when starting. The most likely reason for your problem is some junk firewall/antivirus/net-whatever-protection or maleware which hooks into eMule while beeing DEP incompatible (or just badly written) and then makes eMule crash.
If you are sure you don't have such a software installed, you can enable dumps and sent us the result so we can investigate further: http://forum.emule-p...showtopic=83385

For security reasons the better choice is to resolve the issue rather than using 0.49b and ignoring it.

Ok, thanks I will look into that, I've got Kaspersky 8 and Spybot installed, and I do regular checks, will have to look again, and will send the dump results. But I'm quite sure I don't have any malware or junk.

Yea the devs should definitely implement something against that horrid Apple software that is around :P
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Good to see eMule development alive!
...implementing sharing single files is a good thing :)
... and thx for keeping our animal in basic form.

For english speaking people : I was just trapped by a fake emule uploading site who asked me to send a SMS to get e code. Then I received a SMS asking me te send a second SMS. Each SMS costs 3 euros. I code a code and finished the installation, but nothing at alla was installed.
Be carefull !

A+
