The site you use is not recommended long ago. More servers can mean more results in global search, but this is only usefull if your list do not contain fake servers that send you false results. ATM there are very few reliable servers.

Cheers :D

To get a reliable server list free of fake ones, you can follow these steps
  • Go to Options/Security
  • Select Filter servers too
  • In Update from URL, type:
    http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/ipfilter.zip

  • Click on Load.
  • Go to Options/Server
  • Set number of errors allowed before removing the server to 9
  • Click List button that appears next to the option Auto update
  • In Notepad, that is opened, write this line and remove all others if exists:
    http://www.peerates.net/servers.php
  • Save changes in notepad
  • Untick the options to update list of servers when connecting to new server and new client
  • Click on Accept
  • Go to servers window
  • Remove all servers from static list
  • Remove all servers from list
  • In Update Server.met from URL, type the same URL you did in point #8
  • Click on Update button
  • If you have selected Autoconnect only to servers on static list add the servers you want to static list
  • Double click on any server

If you are getting the list by first time, not having servers in your list, you can, obviously, avoid step #13 and 14.

If you don't want emule to reload list at startup, you can also avoid steps #7 to 9, but not harm in doing them anyway.

From time to time, when the file is updated, you should have to load ipfilter, steps #3 and 4. And every time you want you can also clean and reload server list steps #13 to 16

Cheers :D

I like peerates.net and his responsible use to visit this forum and answer when he is asked for something, but, of course, it is not the only place.

Cheers :D

This post is 1.5 years old, and while http://emulepawcio.s...et/ipfilter.zip does download a .zip file, emule (v50a, windows XP) can't use it (says "IP filter download failed").

Any newer info?

http://www.emule-pro...1&rm=show_topic says to use

Gruk.org
Peerates.net
TheDonkeyNetwork
Server List for eDonkey2000

but I remember a time in the past when emule-project.net kept recommending getting server updates from a site for almost a year after it was discovered to be an industry trap, so I want to check that this info is current.

How can I keep certain servers from the servers list removed once I remove them so that they never show up again in the server list. I really need to have those servers that have bad or cuss words removed. I've tried all the selections in Options and Tools and the IPfilters selection is blocked out.

The name or description of a server is not brelated to the file it indexes, but if you want to filter a server add a line, in proper place, to your ipfilter.
For example if you want to filter the server with ip 61.129.65.200 add a line like this
61.129.65.200 - 61.129.65.200 , 90 , Server filtered by myself
The text after the last colom is free.
BTW you have to tick the option to filter servers in Options/Security

Cheers :D

Something strange happened while downloading. I'm a low ID user which I haven't been able to correct in spite of changes that I've made to my McAfee firewall. I was using the eD2K server with the most users when I lost my connection. Not only did was that server not showing on my update list provided by http://www.peerates.net/servers.php but
all the albums that I was transferring disappeared completely. I reconnected on another server and restarted all the albums that I hasd been downloading. Although I'm slowly making progress downloading them (remember I'm low ID). I'm seeing some of the downloads complete from a phantom source which means that my earlier downloads that disappered when I lost connection are still ongoing in some mysterious fourth dimension. Can anyone explain what is happening? Thank you.

It still blocks lots of valid IP-ranges. (me among them :ranting: )
It does not block IPs / ranges it should block.

Thanks

Torpon,

if I may ask, what are the reliable servers up-to-date, please?
I've tried all the the links you suggested in this 4-page thread, but non of them worked. (Unless the problem lies in my e-mule program specifically...in which case, I need to start a new thread to get to the root of the problem haha)

Thanks :)
