I'm not sure this is a new topic but I looked at the previous questions about no kad connection and tried the suggestion from Nissenice.
I disconnected kad and typed in http://www.emule-inside.net/nodes.dat into the nodes.dat from url: above the known clients.
then went to "bootstrap" and clicked .
under the Current Searches one search showed key--3605 then node lookup and stopping.
Then end result is that kad stil shows--connecting.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Try the one at http://www.nodes-dat.com/

If it still doesn't work, hit cancel/disconnect in the Kad window. start a download of something like an emule file (go here and click on the emule installer or zip file) get plenty of sources (you will need to be connected to a good server for this) and then click bootstrap from known clients in the Kad window.
Are we nearly there yet?

HI--thanks for your reply.
I'm not sure what you mean by download a file--I went to the eMule content data page(by clicking(here) in your reply,
but I am lost--what would I click on there to download a file?
How would I get pleanty of sources?
Sorry to be so dense.
Thanks, Denny

If you'd scrolled down, you would have seen links to download the files just above the discussion messages. But nevermind, if that looks a bit "odd". Try another way. Connect to a good server (if you are unsure if your servers are good see trebla's serverlist guide in quick help & guides subforum,) search for a file, such as emule installer. start the download. it should find a lot of sources very quickly. Then do the bootstrap from known clients. You can cancel the download afterwards.

If that doesn't work, did you try the nodes.dat site and their add to emule link?

If you still have problems, let us know, and give some useful info such as if you are a "new" user, or if you've been fine in the past and this is a recent problem. Also useful would be the info suggested at #5 of the first post of this topic

Hi,
I am a relative newbie--i have been using emule for about a year and a half.
I have version v0.49a
my operating system is Vista.
My router is a Netgear wpn 824v2--I have a friend who set up the ports and in the recent past(just before version v0.49a was installed all was well--ED2K and Kad worked very well
I have hi id and on ED2K I am using Donkey server #1
I downloaded the nodes.dat and clicked on "add to emule"
When I clicked on bootstrap--known clients I received about 145 contacts and got about 16 searches.
Then the searches started to disappear and now my contacts are disappearing also--ther are now 16 and all of the searches have stopped.
Any thing else you can suggest would be appreciated.
Thsnkd very much, Denny

Hi! Maybe you made a mistake: At nodes-dat.com you can either click on "add to emule" or, if this doesn't work, you can copy the URL from the link "download live nodes.dat" and paste it in emule into the field "Nodes.dat from URL", then click on bootstrap.

If you try the other method xscarab described (collecting sources and bootsrap from them), you should follow one of the guides how to avoid fake servers before, as I think "Donkey server #1" doesn't exist anymore (or did you mean eDonkey server No1?)

www.nodes-dat.com

Close your connection to KAD and download the nodes.dat file. Save it in your eMule/Config directory and then connect to KAD-Network. Thats it. No Server connection needed.

^--- its important to disconnect kad first...

I was having the same problem and tried a few things in this thread and others. Here's what ultimately worked for me:

.49a
-CLOSE OUT COMPLETELY of eMule. Make sure it's disconnected and not running in the tray.
-Download the live nodes file from www.nodes-dat.com and save it to the desktop
-Copy the file & overwrite the existing nodes.dat in C:\Program Files\emule\config
-Launch emule

Trying to bootstrap from within emule didn't work for whatever reason, and the existing nodes.dat I overwrote was only 4 bytes. Kad's now connected and I've got more sources than ever.

I came to this forum because I was having the same problem, however, by folowing the above instructions I did get the KAD network back and am able to contune with my downloading.

I would just change one part of the instructions however, after going to www.nodes-dat.com, the correct link to download the KAD nodes is : Download live nodes.dat

Don't get fooled by other links named just nodes.dat ?

I was, and all I got was the KAD instruction page in German.

Now I know German, but, not that Gut!!!!!
