Click on Downloads button at top of page, you can chose any mirror you want. Stop all download managers before downloading.

Sourceforge might be blocked in china currently as far as i know, use the ed2k links if you already have a eMule version or some other downloadsite mirror if you don't (for example http://dl09.chip.de/...-Installer1.exe )

I get asked to get a code by texting some number when I run the installer.

same link... I end up on a sourceforge page, download a file called instalaemule.exe.
A wizard comes up when I run the file asking me to get an activation code because I am installing a premium version.
I don't know what's wrong because I start the process to download the file on the official emule site (the link you gave me)
????

yes I clcked on the right icon... anyway I think I solved the problem... my browser was avoiding popups and the download wind did not appear...
I don't know how the othe rwindow opened making me install the wrong file though

Update your virus scanner and scan your box. Then hit it with Spybot or Adaware. Your PC might just be infected with some kind of malicious software.

eMule is free and there is no premium version.
