Hi all - thanks a million for this program and this board as well. eMule is the best.

this is my first post on the board and unfortunately its because I have a problem.

I recently just got a new apartment and new phone/internet service. I'm in the USA and Verizon is my ISP.

I'm using a Westell 6100 modem.

In the past i've used this same modem (two years ago, different house) and was able to DL from eMule absolutely fine.

With this new connection I cannot connect to eMule , AIM, soulseek, bitcomet or any software which needs to connect to its own service.

Internet works fine, youtube is fine, rapidshare is fine.

I try connecting to these programs and nothing works. So then I try eMule as well the first time I start it up , after a few minutes I got KAD to connect but with Low ID yellow arrow.

So I go to portfoward.com and get into my modem (which apparently TECHNICALLY acts as a router, or so I read) - I then set up the ports to foward for all my programs. Go back and reload eMule and get nothing. All servers "appear to be dead". I ended up going through Trebla's thread on how to update my server list with good servers and the gruk service and have done all of that and still nothing.

Any idea what my issue you could be??

oh and PS. I called verizon and was told i'd have to pay for "premium technical support" if they were to handle this issue for me :ranting:

Are you sure you used the correct ports in your router rules? Are you sure you used correct IP?

For ports look in Emule/options/connection.

For IP address run IPCONFIG from command prompt.

Yes. The fowarded ports are the same numbers as I have in my eMule settings.

As far as my IP goes ... When I log into my modem it gives me an IP address that starts with 72.93... and when I look at the section that says "my network" it gives me an IP address that starts with 192.168 ... Then also under the "my network" section is says "connection type" and says "unknown" with a picture of a connection line and an X in the middle of it. my ISP is Verizon.

You forwarded ports to this address, yes?
