Help! I Stil Dun Understand! :( emule not working wif vista..w

when i wanna download stuff
11/1/2008 5:49:57 PM: ERROR: Failed to create part file
11/1/2008 5:49:57 PM: ERROR while saving part file: 001.part.met rmvb) - Part file not found
11/1/2008 5:53:53 PM: Failed to save server.met! - Access to C:\Program Files\eMule\config\server.met.new was denied.
these messages keep on appearing.. can someone give me step by step info so a computer idiot like me can understand?? it's so frustrating not being able to use my fav emule!! :worthy: :worthy: i'm begging....

Step 1. Download the installer. Link is on top of this page.
Step 2. Reinstall eMule, but tell it to store the file in the personal directory/folder instead of the program directory.
Step 3. Start eMule
Step 4. Connect.
Step 5. Start your download again.
Step 6. Install a Brain implant to make you smaller idiot.

And please report back to sickbay after curing your problem. Other patients may be helped by this as well.

If you note errors in my help please keep in mind that my holomatrix can get defects due to bad prolonged interaction. In other words, shut of the EMH when leaving the topic.

sorry I dropped by this older thread but I wanted to post what worked for me the other day, in case it helps someone down the line.


I hit disconnect in the program.

Took the bigger-sized server.met from my temps directory and overwrote/copied it right over the top of the one in the
Docs and Setts/ Owner / Appl Data/ emule /config

Reconnected the program.

no problems since with my xp machine :)
