I have downloaded a number of near complete movies. Can the part file be converted to another format to be edited? So you can just edit around the parts that are missing to make a complete movie that will play on most players. I know your can View them with VLC player. But VLC does not edit or convert files. I don’t know of video converter that will convert a Part file. Can you just change the name of the part file to say avi or other common video file and have it work?

Yes, just rename the extension and depending on which chunks you do or do not have of the .part file, you should be able to view/edit most nearly complete files.

Oh yes, it does! :)

from the "open file" menu (not the "quick" one), tick the "Stream/Save" box, then choose the correct settings.

That's it.

If you want to edit the file, for .avi load the (renamed to .avi) file in Virtual Dub or in Virtual Dub Mod and edit / convert as You like.

If You want to edit .mpg files, use an mpg-editor to load the (renamed to .mpg) file.

All that has however nothing to do with eMule.
For help with videos / editing You may try the virtual Dub Documentation, their forums or more general http://www.videohelp.com

This can be easily solved by video converters, like Zamzar (online tool) Joyoshare Video Converter (desktop). They can convert various videos to AVI, MOV, MP4, etc.
