I am facing some strange behavior from my emule. Here are the facts:

1. I am using emule version 0.49a
2. I have been using emule for several months without any problems, connecting on both ed2k and kad. I have a lot of files in my shared directory and usually I have a lot of people uploading from me.
3. Suddenly, today, my emule thinks it is connected to e2dk with high ID, but kad says connecting (and just stays at connecting).
4. When I look at the log, it says "Credit file loaded. 15961 clients are known". But, I have 0 sources for all my downloads and no one is uploading from me. When I look under "statistics", the number of "known clients" is 0.
5. I tried the "test port" test and it says both port test successful.
6. I have tried re-booting my computer (running Vista) and re-booting emule.
7. I am not sure if this is relevant, but when this behavior first started, I looked at the log and it said something like "part.met file has wrong version" and it indicated a particular part.met file, so I just deleted that file altogether hoping the strange behavior would go away but it didn't.

Can anyone help? I have gotten addicted to emule and I can't imagine how to live without it :)

Thanks

Ravi

Follow these steps
  • Go to Options/Security
  • In Update from URL, type:
    http://emulepawcio.s...et/ipfilter.zip
  • Click on Load.
  • Go to Options/Server
  • Set number of errors allowed before removing the server to 9
  • Click List button that appears next to the option Auto update
  • In Notepad, that is opened, write these lines and remove all others if exists:
    http://www.gruk.org/server.met.gz
    http://www.peerates.net/servers.php
  • Save changes in notepad
  • Untick the options to update list of servers when connecting to new server and new client
  • Click on Accept
  • Go to servers window
  • Remove all servers from static list
  • Remove all servers from list
  • In Update Server.met from URL, write any of the URL in point 7
  • Click on Update button
  • If you have selected Autoconnect only to servers on static list add the servers you want to static list
  • Double click on any server

Once you get kown clients on ed2k network, say 100, click on Bootstrap on Kad window

Cheers :D
