Hello folks,
just a question about sharing.
In the past, i have downloaded music from limewire & Ares and made up my own album folders and put names on them like "**** album disc1" I want to share these trax with others. Is eMule capable of opening these folders or will I have to open them myself and store them as individual files?

When you talk about album folders are you talking about zip/rar folders or about Windows directories?.
In first case you just need share that file, for instance moving to incoming folder and clicking on reload button in shared files tab.
In second case you can share the folder, selecting it in Options/Directories, but the files only can be downloaded individually, unless you make an emule collection, a text or binary file with ed2klinks for the file you want to include in the collection. Once someone has downloaded the emullecollection file he can choose among download some of the files or all the collection.

Cheers :D

It is not efficient to share many small files in eMule.
Therefore better share whole album as one archive file instead of separate tracks.

Thanks Torpon,
These albums are like windows directories e.g. folder name=***name, click to open to view music traxs. All made from Win. Media player play lists.
Can you show me an example of an emulecollection as a text or binary file as I am not that good at that sort of computing.

Create a collection is very easy.
  • Share the folder
  • Go to Shared files window
  • Select all the files you want to add to the collection
  • Right click on a file
  • Select Collection > Create collection
You can add or remove files from collection and choose among text or binary format

Cheers :D

With eMule collection every file is still shared independently.
Consider making archives.
