Never heard of this server-software before, how old is this project?
In case this is fresh new then I think it is quite a strange moment.(IMHO)
I hope a bunch of hackers 'll look into your machine code to see if always is right.
I'm always suspicious.
You have translated your page in tons of languages, ( http://satan-edonkey...a...ite=0&sub=0 ),
you look like a well funded enterprise.
Hope you are nice guys.

I won't run this until they give a "go".
P2P is not piracy, it's marketing.
In fact, if your music or movie is NOT being downloaded, you should be WORRIED !
If you can't even give it away for free, how do you expect to sell it, stupid ?

Which makes it even more suspicous
But honestly: It is sure a nice thing to have more than one serversoftware available, just like it is better to have more than one client for the edoneky network. However, it is not very surprising that your software is seen critical on a first look, questioning its integrity. After all you cannot code such software within some hours, there is a profound knowledge of the protocol, database storage and other areas needed, so such projects in general don't appear over night. Given that you do not offer any sources to check it, offer no explanation who your guys are and why you do this coding and the appearance of the website (name, translations, fake whois data) don't make it easier tu win trust.
But again, i'm not claiming anything, i haven't looked into your software yet and if you are indeed just trying to offer an alternative server software than we are happy about this too. Just pointing out that the start is a bit... not perfectly staged.

:=). And she is beautifull too!

Yes, we took this into account while discussing the 'closed'-source vs. 'open-source' issue. We think
we can reach (after a long period of time) a trusty community.

We have been working on this for several months and wanted to make it perfectly as we can. We got a protocoll description by some guys (posted by/from israel university) and the rest of it we have read from the mule source code.

We live in a hostile world !

Keep in mind that we cannot pay a 30 millions bill like edonkey2000-server company has done to some industies.
We are a group located in germany. That's all the world will ever know about us (internal agreement of our team).

Fun & fame. And we would like to "move something" in our live (sorry - in german language it sounds correct)

We want to prove that we are no beginners. That's why (for example) we decided to provide a java-port for all other plattforms. We plan to compile our software on other plattforms like hp-ux and solaris but this needs more time....

Trust is something to gain/reach and not to win.

You are welcome to test/discuss the features and so on ....

Don't understand this wording .... please explain it once again...

Bad weather for the eD2k network, genuine servers close, and others appear of the anything.
On the contrary, favorable winds blow, for the fake servers spreads, false prophets, perhaps manages by anti-p2p stuff.
I also hope that you've genuine intentions, to the network eD2k and its users.
bye

First of all, someone has to check if your new eserver is free of any backdoor, remote access functionality, unknown logging and unknown protocolchanges. How should someone be able to do this without having the full sources?
So i think it is better to use today's release of the secure lugdunumserver.

They should have proven themselves trustworthy by now.
Maybe you can come to a non-disclosure agreement to keep your server software closed source.
That should earn you a lot of trust from the community.

You want a light mod with source-dropping, Powershare and WiZaRd's ClientAnalyzer ?
Try Spike2-Mod !
You rather want to stick to official eMule but don't want to miss all the new fixes and optimizations from the mods ?
Try OfFixed-Mod !

Could someone give us his email-adress (via PM to info@satan-edonkey-server.org)
Because the 'official' one (lugdunum69@hotmail.com) from his web-page seems to be not used by him.
(We send some eMails a few months ago to him - no feedback at all :-(

I don`t see a single reason to for anyone to switch to your software. Time has proven that Closed Source, obsfucation and licenses can`t stop crackers from reverse engeneering and finding remote exploitable bugs.
This project is kinda wasted. You could have been either made some Open Source alternative, fork some server/client or contribute to some project.
I really see any advantages not to announce this project more early. Also no point to give such software free of charge, but protected source.
