I was quite satisfied with the result. It was obvious manu would win when terry stepped up to take a penalty. Was odd enough that ronaldo missed, odder still that lampard didn't. c'mon - for terry to not miss too, NO EFFIN WAY that was gonna happenPosted Image (however, it was good that the match was eventually won by a good save by the keeper rather than by a stuffup by a striker)

Enjoyed the match, tho a couple of players disappointed such as Rooney, by not doing, or not being able to do anything interesting, J Cole - by having the wrong attitude - does that guy know HOW to smile? But at least it wasn't a dull match where both sides wanted to do nothing more than safely and BORINGLY keep possession throughout then score in the last 5 or 10 minutes.

(btw - @ bio - the "locals" lost in the manu-everton "final" lol)

I hear you were lucky... when the Chelsea captain to win [prolly thinking about his flower arrangement he entered in the flower show] beat the goalie but hit the post!

On a sadder note... the filthy Roaches beat the noble Toads. We need to win the next 2 now. :(

Rubbish! IIRC ManU had 2 English players taking penalties (and 1 of those has proven he's not proper english cos he scored in a world cup 2006 shootout), Chelsea had 3. Any team thinking they could win a penalty shootout when they had more English players taking penalties than the other team did were just bloody stupid innit. Maybe if drogba hadn't been so petulant, it might not have been 1 Englishman too many stepping up to the spot.

Anyway, onwards with the footie calender - who's gonna win euro 2008?

He didn't c'mon quite enough, so I guess it's a federer-asspicker final. Again. One small tantrum near the end :D.

I guess Rafa Nadal can run faster than Federer. BTW this is not the same than winning Wimblendon this year, but I hope he will do it sooner or later.

Cheers :D

He got it sooner: RAFA

I was more interested in Lewis winning at Silverstone but well...
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Well you Poms don't get to celebrate a win too often... so woohoo when you can. :P

Damn Aussie [Webber] qualified 2nd but spun out and finished in the also rans. I'm starting to suspect he is an Expat Pom and not a real Aussie!! :D

Went to bed around 1:30 am with Nadal 2-0... glad I didn't slug it out to the end.

I think our papers made more fuss about our 14 yr old girl winning the girls singles, than they did about venus winning the ladies. :D

I missed the first 2 sets of the mens. Watched the rest and it seriously ate into my study time :( Was a good match tho (last 3 sets that I saw, at least), but jeez .. nadal's fingers must have STUNK at the end of it. I swear there were up to 3 between-points crack-snack hunts sometimes. Posted Image

Talking of bonkin bio

New Zealand rugby fans watching a regular sports programme found themselves viewing hardcore pornography instead on Sunday afternoon.

Four minutes of pornography interrupted sports coverage on the Prime Television channel, after what a spokesman described as a distribution mix up.

LMFAO

The programme was Grassroots Rugby. So the porn was not off-topic :P
