Hi,
I have noticed a strange behaviour which seems to belong to emule:
My antivirus logs attempts to reach an email server at port 110. The server is unknown to me, whois shows some address of apparently a cable ISP - host-62-141-247-244.tomaszow.mm.pl:110. The log shows a process ID of emule, which looks like the only indication to it.

I have totally uninstalled and deleted emule and its folders, and then reinstalled it using a new download of the official version. The log looked quiet for a day or two, and then the situation returned, but with a differnt IP of the server - 222.108.185.64:110.

All of the attempts apparently fail.
Scanning with AVG antivirus, AVG anti rootkit and AdAware discovers nothing.
The email notifications setting is disabled, and I couldn't find any refference of emule accessing port 110.
This behavior looks like an attempt to download something (maybe trojan).

Be glad for any ideas or info

Thanks
Tal

Emule is not sending any email. Its your firewall that consider any traffic by the port used by email like an eail. You are sending data to a user that has set this port as TCP or UDP.

Cheers :D

I have just thought about the same idea - that some user has set his port to 110, but it sounds pretty stupid to use a well known port like 110 - likely to cause problems.

Any ideas howto find the specific user in the lists and see that this is really the case?

Thanks
