Pc-card Connection Is possible to have high od with pc-card?

ciao,
i live in country side so i don't have ADSL line but i use pc-card connection (contract flat....).
but with this connection i dont understand how get high id.
also with no firewall the ports taste is failing!

my OS is windows xp pro.

"pc-card connection" is extremely vague. Is that supposed to mean you're using some sort of wireless connection? If so, you're at the mercy of your ISP because they control the routers. If the IP address you receive from your provider is a private IP address, there is nothing further you can do and you'll have to live with low ID unless you can get your ISP to give/sell you a connection with a public IP address. HTH.

In case you're using UMTS most probably you're stuck. The only provider I know about that gives out public IPs is (German) Vodafone but they block the ports so that's of no help. People would have to switch their contract to a business plan at a (much) higher cost...
