I suggest that you try this:

torpon said:

  • Go to Options/Server
  • Set number of errors allowed before removing the server to 9
  • Click Edit button that appears next to the option Auto update
  • In Notepad, that is opened, add the following lines in the beginning:
    http://www.gruk.org/server.met.gz
    http://peerates.net/peerates/trueservers.met

  • Save changes in notepad
  • Unmark the two following options Update list of servers
  • Click on Accept
  • Go to servers window
  • Remove all servers from static list
  • Remove all servers from list
  • In Update Server.met from URL, write any of the URL in point 4
  • Click on Update button
  • If you have selected Autoconnet only to servers on static list add the servers you want to static list
  • Double click on any server

Additionally, enable 'Use smart LowID check on connect' and 'Safe Connect' in Options > Server.

Where are all the URL in point 4? I have there only two links.
but, why my server list is empty?
help please!

Servers page to the right. 'Update server.met from URL'.
Paste:
http://www.peerates.net/servers.php

Click 'Update'.

EDIT: Btw, this thread is almost two years old. So here is an update of the current steps a la torpon:

To get a reliable server list free of fake ones, you can follow these steps
  • Go to Options/Security
  • Select Filter servers too
  • In Update from URL, type:
    http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/ipfilter.zip

  • Click on Load.
  • Go to Options/Server
  • Set number of errors allowed before removing the server to 9
  • Click List button that appears next to the option Auto update
  • In Notepad, that is opened, write this line and remove all others if exists:
    http://www.peerates.net/servers.php
  • Save changes in notepad
  • Untick the options to update list of servers when connecting to new server and new client
  • Click on Accept
  • Go to servers window
  • Remove all servers from static list
  • Remove all servers from list
  • In Update Server.met from URL, type the same URL you did in point #8
  • Click on Update button
  • If you have selected Autoconnect only to servers on static list add the servers you want to static list
  • Double click on any server

If you are getting the list by first time, not having servers in your list, you can, obviously, avoid step #13 and 14.

If you don't want emule to reload list at startup, you can also avoid steps #7 to 9, but not harm in doing them anyway.

From time to time, when the file is updated, you should have to load ipfilter, steps #3 and 4. And every time you want you can also clean and reload server list steps #13 to 16

Cheers :D

Go to Options/Security
Select Filter servers too
set filter level < 127
Click on Apply
In Update from URL, paste: http://emulepawcio.s...et/ipfilter.zip
Click on Load
Go to Options/Server
Set number of errors allowed before removing the server to 9
Tick auto-update server list at startup
Untick the options to update server list when connecting to new server and new client
Click on Apply
Click List... button that appears next to the option Auto update
In Notepad, that is opened, write this line and remove all others if exists: http://www.peerates.net/servers.php
Save changes in notepad and close it
Click on ok
Go to servers window
Remove all servers from static list
Remove all servers from list
In Update Server.met from URL, type: http://www.peerates.net/servers.php
Click on Update button

if peerates doesn't work, use this: http://gruk.org/list.php

now you should have 4 servers ... and when you start another session, servers are automatically updated with peerates server list

sometimes servers are inactive 'cause they are momentarily off

Then you did something wrong, less than five servers if you follow instructions right.
