Because aMule already provides cross plattform support.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

trust me, andu is aware of that fact! what andu means is that there is no need to port emule as there is already a sort-of-port called amule. if you think that client lacks of any feature... either add 'em yourself or request it to be done.

No, there will not be a new version of my mods. No, I do not want your PM. No, I am certain, use the board and quit sending PMs. No, I am not kidding, there will not be a new version of my mods just because of YOU asking for it!

Sorry, you're right, Andu means that you wrote. BTW, in that case I agree with him :)

Ok. I'm installing Debian..and then I will use aMule, but it have less features that Morph (or eMule).
My question became then: why 2 teams work at 2 very similar software? Is not useful a joint-venture? Feautures of eMule + cross-platform of aMule = 1 great client! impossible to do?

Because normaly both groups have diferent priorities.

eMule uses MFC, which is pretty much exclusive to Windows; aMule uses GTK+, which is more portable.

Amule, although it has some problems and does not have some features, is also more advanced in some fields that are more important to them, like command line client, a deamon client, seperation of gui and core, webserver using php, and some others.

That does not mean they do not cooperate, they do, only on the fundamental issues of the protocol and network (Kad being one big example).

I thought aMule used wxWidgets!
eMule v0.50a [NetF WARP v0.3a]
- Compiled for 32 and 64 bit Windows versions
- Optimized for fast (100Mbit/s) Internet connections
- Faster file completion via Dynamic Block Requests and dropping of stalling sources
- Faster searching via KAD with equal or reduced overhead
- Less GUI lockups through multi-threaded disk IO operations
- VIP "Payback" queue
- Fakealyzer (helps you chosing the right files)
- Quality Of Service to keep eMule from disturbing VoIP and other important applications (Vista/7/8 only!)

Yes, you are correct, my mistake.
