what criteria are used to choose fake servers and sources?

Could a server, indicated as fake, return reliable?

Do you suggest to put this option on?

Copy
http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/ipfilter.zip
and paste it in 'Update from URL' in Options/Security and click 'Load'.
Imo, it's a good idea to have 'Filter servers too' enabled, though it doesn't make much difference. It's not possible to connect to a blocked server regardless of the choice.

Another URL you can download an ipfilter from is:
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/nipfilter.dat.gz

So it's possible a server becomes reliable from fake...but to notify my eMule about this change I've to update ipfilter.dat file otherwise that server goes on blocked...Am I wrong?

If I'm right, how often have I to update ipfilte.dat ?

Thanks!

Another question: eMule has download ipfilter.dat from one of indicated URL...

when I update the file, it'll be overwritten or changed according to fake2reliable and reliable2fake servers ?

why doesn't eMule maintain URL into 'Update from URL' field when I close 'Options' window?

Well, bluetack's is updated once a week, the emulepawcio filter is updated less frequent. On the other hand, I believe that bluetack's is blocking servers which are not considered as fakes by the emulepawcio filter. At least this was the case when I checked a long time ago.

Afaik every URL used to load an ipfilter from is saved in AC_IPFilterUpdateURLs.dat (config-folder). I have never had any problem myself. Which OS are you using?

Hmm, strange.. That file is created/updated upon closing.

I can see by comparing your uploaded image against mine that you are not using the same client as I. I'm using v0.48a, which leads to the inevitable question: Which client are you using?
